Believe it or not, Bobby Valentino released his sophomore album, Special Occasion, on May 6th of last year. Originally supposed to reach store shelves in December of ’06, the album was delayed multiple times and failed to produce a single hit record. Unfazed by the disappointment, however, Valentino has jumped right back up on his career horse and is in hot pursuit of newfound success. Sexy Girl, a buzz single off the forthcoming Underground Love, is produced by frequent collaborators Tim & Bob, and showcases Valentino’s vocal range and a desire to improve his sound quality. Bobby’s labels, Def Jam and Disturbing The Peace, have not yet set a release date for Underground Love.
Hot beat, if not a bit odd in some parts. Solid Bobby V track, but it'll unlikely catch on. I'm definitely one who thinks Bobby V is under-appreciated/recognized. But as long as Usher is still on the front page, bobby v still has A LONG way to go before rivalling usha!
Honestly, this song is pretty average. I think Bobby can sing, but just not as good as usher and chris brown and a few other guys that have recently come out. Heck, mario is better as well. I didn't even know about his second album dropped! Terrible marketing on this one! It is just going to be hard for him. This track does have a catchy chorus, but it's not coming out great. The beat is OK.
I absolutely love the beat, so exotic! Bobby’s had a couple of songs sounding like this, courtesy of Tim&Bob, but they always sound good. And Bobby V is still one of the best singers on the R&B field, solid performance.
I usually use Amazon.com to read album reviews, and Special Occasion was more liked than J-Holiday, Trey Songz, JE, Omarion, Chris Brown, The Dream, Lloyd and Ne-Yo. Tied w/Mario, Marques Houston, Musiq, and probably a couple others. He consistently has more quality tracks than most out there and this is another 1 of em. As Common says, the most successful aren't always the most talented, and Bobby V is a prime example of that. Come on Blaze, you can't be serious that Chris Brown is a better singer than V? Brown's voice is terrible! and it really shows in Exclusive. It's weak, raspy at times... But back to this song, I doubt it'll chart that well, but it'll def be on my playlist
Ok yall dis ya boi Pacman shawty!!! And on the computer that im on rite now aint got no sound. So I aint listened 2 it yet. Lol. But DJ Blaze need 2 LAY IT DOWN!!! Chris Brown can not sing betta dan Bobby Valentino. If thats the case, why Chris Brown keep puttin da T-Pain thing on his voice?!?!?!? He going through puberty and his voice finna get deep now!LOL. But win I listen 2 it Imma leave anothe comment. Im sure its 5 stars anyway!! ATL HOE!!
WHAT ARE YALL SMOKIN ON THIS PAGE YO? ALL THESE YOUNG CATS DOIN THE SAME STYLE OF SONGS!!! CHRIS BROWN, NEYO, TREY SONGZ THE LIST GOES ON, YA BOI BOBBY IS DARING TO BE DIFFERENT AND IT'S WORKING, WATCH THIS ONE ITS A CROSSOVER JOINT TOO!! STRAIGHT CRACK ON WAX, GUITARS LIKE LINCOLN PARK, BEAT IS NUTS!! CHRIS BROWN A BETTER SINGER? WOW..BOBBY SINGS LIKE A MAN, CHRIS IS STILL A BOY ON THE MIKE BUT I LIKE HIM TOO JUST LIKE BV BETTER..
Listen to this cut with your cell phone on vibrate nearby and I guarantee you pick up your phone at least twice thinking it went off. Production from Tim & Bob, as usual, is terrific.
haha no doubt DJ Z i checked at least twice after you said that...at first i was like what is this dude talkin bout haha and then i checked it TWICE haha
Ok dis ya boi Pacman, and I dun listen 2 dis muthafucka and I LOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVEEEEE it!!!!!! First of all Im already Bobby V's #1 fan, so I wuz gon get wit it even if it wuz wack. But this is 1 of his best tracks 2 me. I kant even get this gotdamn song outta my fuckin head. It just the shit. U kant even hate on it. So yall already kno wat it iz 4 me......5 muthafuckin stars!!!! 10 if they went that high. LOL. Im out.
Im feelin what yall are all sayin bobby is a great r&b singer im not to familiar with his second album but he did have some decent songs like I Was Wrong Can't Wait Till Later but its his freshman album i truly love and tha song that shouldve got release was Lights Down Low a true classic in my eyes ya dig
yea he gotta step it up..others in the similair game are really coming on strong..chris brown, usher, mario, j holliday, trey songz, ne-yo, shit even vets like kellz and this new shit TGT (tank, ginuwine, and tyrese) are blazin the airwaves right now and valentino still sounds like how he did 2 years ago..the song is cool dont get me wrong but he gotta come at the game a lil stronger than this
not quite there yet. I'm really pullin 4 bobby because he can sing but, he just needs the right track 2 express his talents. cuz i loved the first album and ever since then it has been down hill
PattyPatty85 i total-e agr-e...i want another song like Annonymous song to- dat wuz a gud 1. Dis song ain't great...and i will neva list-n 2 it again...but i still think it's aight...
This is wack man. I was a Bobby V. fan when he first came out as a solo artist in 2004 with "Turn Around". He hasn't had a hit since then, in my opinion. I wasn't feeling "Anonymous" either. He needs to stray away from these Synth, played out Timbo sounding beats and go back to some of that smoothness
No donjonjon I haven't heard it...now that u told me I'll go and search for it! BTW u r right Tell Me Is amazing, last summer I used to listen to it a thousand times a day, although it's rather "old"!! I found out Tell me 2 years later, here in Italy hip hop music is spreading soooo slowly...but faster than some years ago!
I could of done without this, I'm not really into the r&b love songs...but if i was maybe i'd rock to this. give me a remix with 8ball & mjg, that would add some gangster to it.
Bobby V is one of the best singers in the industry now! His songs sound original and different then other r&b songs. And i have too agree with Donjonjon that Bobby V is much better than Chris Brown. Chris Brown makes Kids mucis, Bobby V makes grown folks music lol! ill agree wit Eric H, he named the best two Bobby songs "Lights Down Low" and " Can't Wait 'Til Later", these are the songs u gonna lay ur girl down too!!!
Bobby V is underrated as hell. Turn The Page, Anonymous, and Rearview are all still in my R&B rotation. His style is too catered to the ladies, that's why he isn't selling that well. A full album of songs just for the ladies isn't going to entice many guys to go out and buy the album and that's where Special Occasion fell flat. But anyways, this song is straight. 4/5.
yeah he definately was not able to get over the sophomore slump. i was bangin his first cd for the longest tho. this song is nice, but i still dont think it compares to sum of the stuff frm his first cd. im pullin for bobby v. the more i listen to this song the more i like it.
I like Bobby V. Big Fan of both his cds this one is ok not like the bobby i like but he will manage to have a couple bangers on his next album he is just to talented ...
He seems too mellow, this song just doesn't "hit" well like other singers songs do. Until he fixes this dull sound he's not gonna create a banger. This song could have been murdered by other singers, Tyrese? Usher? Akon? Trey Songz? Don't get me wrong, I like the song, but its missing something.
theres somethinn about bobby v's voice that makess the songg hella ;; realxinngg && koo(: i just dnt knoe what it is . but im feelinn this ;; but he can do betterr .
