Exactly six months ago today, the Booth featured Butterfly Tattoo, the then-planned second single off Bobby V‘s junior album (and independent debut), The Rebirth.  Though Hands On Me was ultimately chosen as the follow-up to lead selection Beep, fans disappointed in the switch need not be anymore; Butterfly Tattoo has now been selected as the LP’s official third single.  The version Blu Kolla Dreams/EMI have chosen, however, is actually the official remix, on which Harlem’s Jim Jones and Miami’s Rick Ross, jump on board to prove that appreciation of female body art transcends regional divides.  So, tattooed ladies (and uninked females as well), is this star-studded revamp destined to repeat the success of Bobby V’s previous single selections?

I rated the original a 3 because it had (and of course, still has) hit potential. Ross and Jimmy cannot hurt that and if really given a great push can make a dent on the charts. Not bad for a third single off his album.

Rick Ross & Jim Jones are two of the worst possible selections to be on a R&B remix.

The original is a much better track then this.

Better than the original but...

Why is everyone asking Jim Jones to be a feature on their remix? Dude is seriously garbage. Spend a bit more and grab Luda or Bun B.

30 seconds in and you will know it's produced by LOS Da Mystero. Beat altogether pleasant, invokes the same feel of his earlier produced joints ... Bobby is nice and just other day a 'Resident DJ' wrote Ross needs to stop tellin how freaky he is and Jones (as usual) irritates the ears of the most forgiving listener ... Overall this Remix is rotation-stuff, nuthin special just as Original.

Did you guys even listen to Jim Jones verse? I know he is normally not good at all, but I thought his verse was decent. Maybe nothing special for any other rapper but I'm so used to hearing him have such awful verses that it sounded good to me. I thought he flowed pretty well. I don't know, that's just my opinion. Thoughts?

L.O.S. delivered on the beat, Jones wasn't bad, Ross wasn't bad. I like the original, but this is so much better!

Why wait this long to bring this remix out. This is a forgotten throw away track in my opinion. Adding Ross and Jim didn't help this track for me.

I always thought this track had some potential, the original just felt like it was missing something to make it a popular single. The beat in itself is pretty hot, definitely gets you feeling the rhythm of the track. The intro had a bit of late 90s feel to it. But for me, the tempo was just a tad too slow; where it detracted from the beat itself and injected a dose of boring to the track.

I actually find that Rick Ross made a good contribution to this track, his flow and tone work very well with slower RnB tracks. Jim Jones on the other hand... not so much. Although, imo, it's still a positive contribution to the track.

Essentially, I tried really hard to like this track; it had all the elements that would make me like it... but it just doesn't work. I'm still waiting for Bobby V to really bring out something mind-blowing-ly hot.

I like how a lot of the sheep on this site think hating on Jones is the "cool thing" to do. Did you guys even listen to the whole song? Honestly I thought his verse on this track sounded great and had solid flow. Ross did really well too. Both of these dudes were great contributions to the track. Awesome beat, good verses from all three guys, and overall a nice step up from the original.
