Bobby Creekwater - Life Is ft. LJ
Artist: Bobby Creekwater
Producer: Bobby Creekwater & Edwin Lynn
Album: The B.C. Era 2 Mixtape
Label: BGOV
While Stat Quo‘s problems with Shady/Aftermath have reached their boiling point and caused him to walk away from the label, his friend, former labelmate, and fellow Atlanta native Bobby Creekwater is still confident in his future as an MC, having just released The B.C. Era 2 EP (available for free download here). More laid-back than his fellow ATLiens, Bobby Creek picks up the acoustic guitar (along with Edwin Lynn) once again to put a background to two verses reflecting on how funny Life Is when you’ve got money. Complete with singer LJ‘s smooth hook, it can be said that Life Is fills a void in hip-hop: finally, there’s a hip hop song appropriate for the campfire (if you don’t believe me, try it out when the weather improves).

I'm a sucker for rapping over acoustic guitar. First off, Bobby Creekwater sounds VERY MUCH like the original "Deliverance" Bubba Sparxxx on the real deal! LJ brought a smooth vibe to the whole song. The truthfully is some of the type of music I would like to start making too. Hip hop expanding across genres and barriers of what "they" say the norm is.

This was hot and some chill stuff. It's kinda late so I'm not getting the tea but maybe later cause it's in rotation.

This has a country feel to it and no bass beat is unusual. Either way props for something creative. Good lyrics too. This go hard

Wow, you got to love music like this. Deep stuff. I really hope B. Creekwater gets signed to a major label. This is classic, and to come from a mixtape...greatness.

You have to pay attention to the lyrics if your going to listen to this song...because if you don't I'm pretty sure you're going to get bored with it....unless you're "a sucker for rapping over an acoustic guitar"....So now....I think it's good if I'm in a listening mood- but still nothing special. ok.

I was almost afraid to feature this song. Not because it isn't good - because well, look at the ratings so far.
Rather, the reason I was hesitant, is all due to the overwhelming inability for listeners to open up to hip-hop music, infused with country, rock, or other alternative genres. I hope this shows people that Bobby, who is incredibly talented, as well as other artists can really shine by going acoustic. |

This almost brings tears to my eyes... I'm a guitar player myself and this is simple yet beautiful (very well complemented by the occasional piano)!
Bobby convinced me with the first verse alone: nice, smartly spit, thought-provoking rhymes! This is the reason why I love Djbooth! @ BDF44, nice comment, lol @ Z, maybe the Booth members will surprise you… ;) |

I myself, as well as FredRico, am a guitar player, and some of the most simplest sounding acoustics, like this one, can get complicated very fast sometimes, So don't anyone under-rate the acoustics of this lol Bobby flips on this one, Lyrics all flow nicely, great production, and LJ goes nicely with the guitar, and i SWEAR in the very background, pay attention, at the start of this song, and behind the acoustics, you can hear what sounds like... electric guitar riffs? haha

Love the guitar. "Thugz Mansion", anyone? Hip Hop's genre-bending abilities is amazing. It's universal!
lol@MH, only the irony is I don't believe WOW's ever paid attention to lyricism, like, ever. |
