What do you get when you take the Beatles and send them to the Dirty South? You get Lonely People, an unreleased joint from the studio sessions of intergalactic ATLien B.o.B.’s yet-to-be released Adventures of B.o.B. Over production by Mr. Lollipop, Jim Jonsin, B.o.B.’s smoothed-out flow buzzes like a busy bee. In this cautionary tale of lost love and the struggles that accompany it, B.o.B. perfectly takes a somber and reflective tone. Though Talib Kweli may be mad, as he too has an Eleanor Rigby-sampling record entitled Lonely People, DJBooth will let members decide which track they prefer.
For some reason I never listened to this song, despite it being on his myspace for a really long time. still i like this, pretty decent joint. i would rate 4* but that's out of bias for b.o.b, but i won't listen to it enough. still, in heavy rotation, 3.5*
This song is hella old cuz i heard it like a year ago on one of his mixtapes. Its just there never was a version that had no dj or a downloadable version. Ne ways..this song is classic. Who would of thought combining Beatles and south a few years ago. Well, that comes to show how creative hip-hop is becoming and that aint necessarily bad. Great message on this track..B.o.B killin it right now. Solid lyrics. Classic song!!
This is hot. We of course know why this didn't make the final cut: No one "legitimately" clears a Beatles sample. (Disregard my "Say These Werds" and let's never speak of it again...lol). I really liked the production, but I felt it could have banged way harder. Maybe this is an unmixed version. I like B.O.B's different subject matter. It's pretty introspective. It's not a classic in my mind, but I will put give it 4 stars. I really wish that the mix was way better.
when i seen the name of the title for sum reason i knew it was gonna sample eleanor rigby, this song was sampled for games track dope boys i think it was called, this track is hot
THE TRACK IS SMOOTH.. THIS DUDE CREATES GOOD HIP HOP.. SOUNDS LIKE THE OLD GOODIE MOB, OUT-KAST, BIG GIP, CEELO.. HE CUD FIT ALONG WITH ALL DESE DUDES AND THERE LEGENDARY WHEN IT COMES TO THAT GOOD HIP HOP AND SUM OF THE FOUNDERS OF THE SOUTHERN HIP HOP.. NEW TO THE GAME BUT SOUNDS LIKE HE'S A VET.. BOBBY RAE IS WUTS TRAPNIN
I love that song by the beatles. So this sample is crazy. Him and Jon snapped with this beat. B.O.B. is climbing up my ladder of new nice MCs. I dig this alot. Can I call it a Classic?
Yeah, Beatles samples NEVER clear. Ever. But... at least he didn't sit on the joint. I greatly appreciate when artists and their management send us tracks that they know will create buzz, which are not going to be placed on the albums. Why not use them instead of catalog them in a hard drive? Ya know? SIDE NOTE: If you are not a Beatles fan, go to your local library and check out a few of their albums (Abbey Road, Sgrt. Peppets Lonely Hearts Club Band) and enjoy.
i neva knew wat da big deal was bout da beatles til my teacher made us watch "across the universe" last yr n class.....neways, i like dis song. he is different n he reps da A real hard. its nice to c artists cum from down here who can rap bout sumthin other den drugs n hoes...
I wish people would STOP pointing out when they heard this song, and how old it is, WHO CARES, the Booth is just getting it released to them, ever heard of Copyright!? I'm not feeling this song as much as B.o.B.s last single, i doubt ill listen to it again to tell the truth.
I love that song by Beatles! And I must say I liked this song, too. The background sample is great and fits the flow of the song; the overall production is cool! I'm loving the beat and the music. He's good, too! I'm sure that after few listens I'm gonna like this more...for now I give it a 3,5
MH, great question! The difference musically is real simple: interpolation is the art of drawing a specific element from a song, and then changing it just slightly to re-adapt it into a new production. Sampling, on the other hand, is taking an original piece of work and simply splicing it into a new production, without altering it in any way. Legally, it is MUCH easier to get the rights to interpolate. The red tape is a mile long with sampling. Labels actually employ "sample clearance agents." It's no joke.
B.O.B. has impressed me so much lately...after "haters" I thought he was just gonna start selling out...but his new songs on the internet are catching my ear...and hes got some real talent
Macli: dats my fav song from dem!!! but i liked it when da blac dude from da movie sang it...his voice makes da track flow so well....plus i like da history bout y da song was written....
