This potential single from the newest ATLien to reach intergalactic notoriety, B.o.B., is more Organized Konfusion than Nitti. A breath of fresh air amidst a stale snap-‘n-roll musical climate, B.o.B. celebrates life with a fervor sorely missed in hip hop.I’ll Be In The Sky is a track that may go over the heads of trap-rappers still stuck in a maze, but the man also known as “The Future” is looking to go lightspeed past ATL certified legends Outkast and Goodie Mob. Jim Jonsin’s favorite rapper not named Lil’ Wayne waxes poetic over piano jabs, handclaps and tambourines. If ”everyone in the world gon’ die one day,” then we’ll all have smiley faces partyin’ with Biggie and ‘Pac ”in the sky,” having a good time.
I can't seem to feel anything this guy brings out. I hear the outkast type flow here. Its not terrible, but that hook doesn't do it 4 me. When are we gonna put the Haters track on here. That is his best track thus far.
B.O.B has an eclectic style like his other fellow ATLiens "Outkast". People know if this was Andre 3000, it was have all 5 stars. He's highly influenced by greatness, which ultimately makes him great too. Quit hating people. It's all love here. This bangs. I'd rather hear this than all the carbon copies out right now.
im wit Xothermic, it is a lil too happy fa me too. but i like it.. B.o.B. is good.. i stuck with him thru cyber heaven lol. he's one of ma favs. but if the happiness toned down 1 notch.. this would go up a star. the remix could have andre 3000. dat would most def be a 5 star...
Good production, the beat is bangin! It's an overall good song even if I don't like their style...I don't like how Outkast sing, either. Is it possible they remind me of Gym Class Heroes? This song could be theirs! In rotation
B.o.B. is one of my Top 10 favorite new artists in this industry. A little info for you all... the man wrote, produced and arranged the entire song. He is knee-deep in talent. What up TJ!?
You can tell he looks up to Outkast, otherwise he wouldn't produce a track that sounds like this, did he change his voice up a little bit though, it sounds a little bit high pitch then the other songs ive heard by him, but none the less a BANGERR!! When i seen this it reminded me of the T.I. song Live In The Sky feat. Jamie Foxx, thats a CLASSIC in my opinion as well as Over and Over Again lol, B.O.B. is gonna blow up!!
I'm @*#$! with this dude.. Love the melodic hook and yes, he reminds me of Andre3000, but that's a good look. Keep doin what your doing homey. RHYTHMX/$ickWid'It Records/OneBlockRadius Road Manager/Mercury/Island/DefJam
RHYTHMX RATING: 2BluntsUp!
i heard dis song bac n june when i seen him perform at a car n bike show down here n atl....at first i ant like it but its grown on me....he's a pretty good performer too.
Oh, my bad. I guess we should acknowledge of emo listeners, Xothermic and That1Kid13. Hahahaha! Too happy? C'mon, what kind of crap is that. How is something "too happy" and why do you want to just listen to dreary stuff all day. Sounds pretty sinister to me. I guess to each it's own. Try not to slit your wrists before tonight's DJBOOTH post. (Haha...lol...too happy....ah, that was a nice chuckle)
Hi michaelhannah. If it makes you feel any better just replace my words "too happy" with the words "excessive cheesiness" and that's the answer to your first question! Your second question is a bit of a mischaracterization of me. When I used the words 'too happy', I was being a bit particular because I moderately like the song, but I do believe it gets a bit...'happy'. All in all I respect you michaelhannah. You're the first man to identify (incorrectly) a person's mental state and musical taste based only on two words! That's a flattering ability if I do say so myself. Have a good day michalhannah.
this guy is fast becoming one of my favourite artists. everything he brings out is ohh sooo fresh and new. sounds like outkast and outkast rokd @*#$! that no one else rocked.
Not a classic, but i love b.o.b. and this is a high quality song, 4* song, gonna give him his props. i want his album to hit the streets and I'm curious to see his contribution to TIP's paper trail, even if its only a chorus
This is my jam right here. B.o.B. has real talent. The thing that pisses me off is the artists like soldier boy who make records with NO substance or meaning, and become rich and famous. Like Z said, this guy wrote, produced, and arranged this entire track! Yet, he won't get close to crank dat on the charts or make half the money soldier boy made. I understand different styles for different people, so I'm telling all the 'True Hip-Hop' fans out there that we need to support these artists by actually buying their albums - not just downloading them for free.
wow im such a dumbass...i rated n commented before listenin n i jus realized im talkin bout a whole different song dat i hear....lmao...but dis is a nice song too....so ignore my earlier comment
I think B.o.B. is the next best thing outta Atlanta. Great song here. You guys should check out his LRG mixtape. Its also very good. Hopefully Grandhustle makes it a priority that he drops in 09
"maybe I should throw a double dimond party in the north pole, invite all the writers journalist even biters will tournament to see who can be me better than me but you say you dont like my style"
- Andre 3000 in 2008 be careful he dont take light of dis @*#$!..
