In 1985, Zapp & Roger (who used the voice box over twenty years before T-Pain) released their song Computer Love; a resounding success, it would later be sampled by the likes of 2Pac, Blackstreet, Donnell Jones, and Mario. However, not until now has a hip-hop act decided to employ the song’s theme in one of their songs. That act would be Chicago duo and Disturbing Tha Peace signees Block Xchange, who search for females on Myspace, Facebook, and similar networking sites on Computer Love 2008. As Lyriq and Commando upgrade their creativity, producer Mike Snugg samples heavily from the original version to bring back memories for longtime fans. For more tutorials in how to make a powerful point, the duo’s debut album Young & Restless will be available both online and in stores this January.
This is one of my all time favorite beats Zapp and Roger will never be out done sorry T Pain. Block Xchange do do a nice job on this the verses were kinda funny but u can't out do a classic.
It's hard to remake a classic. In the past, I would always recommend not touching a classic, unless you thought you could duplicate its sound AND on top of that... make it even better. The fellas from my hometown didn't do that, but they also didn't destroy the remake like most would have. It deserves far better than the 1's it has received, but again... keep that feedback coming people!
z... i'm shocked you think this deserves more than a one. i was gonna suggest a half of one. a straight jack of the beat would have been lazy but better than the drums they threw behind this. what in the hell is 2008 about this??? there is nothing special about these mc's and am in shock that this track could qualify for the djbooth. major disappointment...
I have never heard the original, but now that I'm hearing the remake I'm curious and I'm gonna YouTube it Ignoring the fact that this is a cover, I think the track is super! I guess it's difficult to give high ratings to a cover because one makes continue comparisons and the last version inevitably loses...I can't make comparisons so I say: this song goes hard, the production is bangin and his flow perfectly follows the rhythm. It will be in my rotation!
