After filling up dance floors with their ’04 hit single, Star, Black Lagoon decided to lay low while they searched for their true identity as a group. Four years later and four members smaller, Kaingoe, Empact, and Amadeus are finally confident that their group has arrived. While the release date of their sophomore album, Certified Stars, is still up in the air due to illegal bootlegging, from what we’ve heard it will be filled with more easy-on-the-ears club jams. Fever, the lead single off the album, is an up-tempo dance track with an 80’s vibe and a twist of hip hop, resulting in something that sounds like a Eurythmics rap remix. Though Black Lagoon may never blow you away with their compelling lyrics or street cred, they sure know how to get people moving.
This is an eclectic joint from a definite eclectic looking group. I like the production by Amadeus because it's different. The vocals are weird, but interesting at the same time. I actually don't know what I really want to say a about that joint. Due to this unsure feeling about it, I'll just throw it in rotation at the moment. BTW, the rapper's vocal delivery reminds me of Eminem a bit. Weird. Oh, and am I the only one who thinks that voice in the background sounds like devil worship? LOL
Nice Eurythmics reference, Charlie. This track is far from ordinary...very far. I don't get the impression that they fully captured the mood that they sought out to produce. This is going to have a difficult time succeeding on the charts, but it displays a great distinction from the generic R&B/rap crew. This song will probably work better overseas rather than in the states.
Great vibe and more than solid production. The emcee's are not going to blow you away, but this overall product is highly entertaining and quite addictive.
I am not feeling so much their flow when they rap, but the beat is hot and I have no patience to dance to this with my friends (who like this kind of songs of course). Banger!
i thought this song was the shit. it kept me entertained the entire song. i don't care if it's original or not. the song was tight and that's all that matters
Ok, this song is little scary. But something about it is HOT. Then again, it sounds like a Miami Vice track. I keep having visuals of Tubbs & Crocket doing a drug-bust.
" I wear my stunna Glasses at night" I like this beat, It got that bounce too. although this rift has been used 1000 times, for some reason I still like it. Spin this!
its not eurythmics, the beat is based on the 80's song Sunglasses At Night by Corey Hart, which was also sampled by The Federation a year or two back...
