Peaceniks and shrinking violets can hit ‘back’ too – as you may have gathered from the record’s confrontational title, Black Flag Records’ new mixtape single (and first Booth feature) is the musical equivalent of a thrown gauntlet. Who are A.Moss (Bottom of the Barrel, All I Have), JJ Bass and Herron looking to pick a fight with on You Wanna Battle? Well, damned near everyone in the music game. Over The Unbeatables’ gritty, boom-bap boardwork (complete with a hook featuring samples from Black Moon’s How Many M.C.‘s and Missy Elliot‘s Get Ur Freak On, to name a couple), the trio take aim at such popular targets as sucker emcees, skinny-jeaned hipsters and out-of-touch radio DJs, delivering aggressive bars packed with intricately-rhymed braggadocio: “It’s easy to see, we feat on these feeble emcees, just give me the beat and drop it like seasonal leaves.” So, readers, do the Black Flag crew have the on-the-mic skills to start a musical revolution? If you think they might, you can find out for sure on their DJ Green Lantern Presents a Coup d’état mixtape, released Tuesday and available now for free download.

Tonight is a GREAT night for straight-up, no holds barred, cuts and scratches galore, dope rhymed-filled hip hop. If you like pop-rap or R&B-geared spitting, you probably hate this. However, fan or not, the song fits its title perfectly.

Yes, I do want to battle. What are the terms.

A lot of headphone banger music tonight, and this is another worthy addition to the raw hip-hop collection. The lyricism didn't blow me away, but on the whole I have to respect the product.

Big Thanks to the booth and the people behind the scene that make the site possible. I suggest that anyone who is not totally sprung on the first track should download the whole mix. There are 24 tracks on the mix with only one industry beat. Not a lot of people doing that these days. Thanks for taking the time to listen. ALso if you ant to peep the video for this track you kind find it here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v25DAPTnDq8

Sincerely,

Black Flag records Camp.

I could see what they were going for, but I prefer to bop to tracks that don't constantly repeat "get off my d___" and toilet noises. I tried to ignore it but it got the best of me in the end. I could give these guys another shot, they show promise.

I like the production on this joint, I don't know the Unbeatables but if they continue making hot beats like this. They are going very rich soon.
