For the past twenty-one weeks (almost half a year!), one musical act’s name has been constantly at the top of the Billboard Hot 100. With Boom Boom Pow and I Gotta Feeling, the Black Eyed Peas broke the record Usher set with Yeah! and Burn-Confessions Pt. II, proving once and for all that, when they’re in the room, The Energy Never Dies. On their latest LP’s newly-selected third single, Will, Apl, Tab, and Fergie each address loved ones they’ve been separated from for far too long, asking them to “Meet Me Halfway” so they can reunite sooner. Topped off with a sweeping, perfectly-blended synth beat by will.i.am and Keith Harris, this track will undoubtedly be every bit as successful as its predecessors. As summer turns to fall, the Peas’ vibe will echo on—Meet Me Halfway‘s official music video is set to premiere in early November.

Being an old school B.E.P fan, this isn't something I thought I would ever hear them make (minus Fergie). Having already accepted who they have become - and that they are damn good at what they now do - this falls in line with the rest of their poppy single selections.
As Burmy has prophesied before, this also should do well on the charts.

What's with the whole change-up from them. I liked the last 2 albums much more than this muisc on the new album.
It feels like they sold-out buy aiming totally for radio charts with having electro/party music and just dropping the social messages which is what they were frist know for. This isn't as bad as the other singles but way off from past music. |

I like when BEP is high energy. Mokey business was the first CD i ever bought myself. but this song is OK. they have so many better songs on their cd. (simple little melody, electric city, mare, etc;)

is it jus me or does that not sound like Fergie?
she sounds good regardless. this is catchy and i think it will do decent on the charts. i jus take BEP for wat they are, maybe thats y i dont have certain expectations for them and i can jus relax and enjoy their music. |

This song is one that gets better with each listen. You have to allow a few listens for it to grow on you. But I also feel they have so many better songs on E.N.D
Anyway, it will still top the charts relating how things haven't changed much as they rule the Billboard even with their new electro-pop. Alive > Meet Me Halfway |

Hmm....Not my cup of tea but it
sounds like a grower though so maybe after a couple listens i would actually like it!! I think this will do good in clubs and on mainstream radio!! |

I will put this in rotation and basically Z's rationale... Will.I.Am is a genious when it comes to this club/electro pop music, and this is another potential hit.

I'll be the first to admit, I turned a blind eye when they made "I Gotta Feeling", mainly because it made me put my dancing shoes on. That being said, I would like an old school BEP album to come out (never going to happen with it's latest member). As for this particular song, Z's comment fits the bill perfectly. It's different, but far from bad.

Gotta say the BEP album is straight up garbage. They completely sold out for mainstream acceptance. Like you can get mainstream love and still stay true to your roots (i.e Kanye, T.I., Jeezy) but they completely bought into this trash. Boom Boom Pow was banging, I gotta feelin was ehhhh but this is just formulaic garbage. Where the hell are the other 2 guys, I hardly heard them on the album??? The whole cd is autotuned out, sub-par eurobeat trash.......i want the old BEP back

It really dosnt matter what I think of these BEP tracks, I cant listen to them in the car or at home. But they definitely work in the clubs

I actually like this song, it's catchy and has a good melody. Fergie and Will.I.Am sound good as usual. Co-Sign3 I kinda feel you, the BEP are different from what they used to be. I don't know if they just accepted to get into the mainstream or they wanted to do something more catchy and "easy" to listen to. I personally have never been a huge fan of them, I have always liked only the singles, their albums have never amazed me, the other songs were only fillers to me. This song is better than I Got A Feeling (to me it was useless) in my opinion. I think it will have an high position in the charts!

A few of you said they sold out for main stream acceptance. REALLY??? Lets put on our thinkin Caps and look at the last two albums. Those were both very popular with the mainstream. I have been a huge fan of BEP since bridging the gap and I like how they try and reinvent themselves every album. When I put a new one in you really never know what you are gonna get. This is no their best work, but they get an extra star for just being some of the most original artist in the Game
