BK Cyph - iQuit
Artist: BK Cyph
Producer: Numonics
Album: Being Cool Doesn't Pay the Bills
Label: Unsigned
Want to quit that low-paying, back-breaking job, in a way that will utterly destroy your chances of getting a positive reference when you’re looking for work in the future? Uh, that may not be the greatest idea… especially in today’s economic climate. But hey, if you’re determined to be an idiot, there’s no more efficient way to communicate your choice to your soon-to-be-former boss than by flipping on iQuit, the latest releases off Numonics’ Being Cool Doesn’t Pay the Bills mixtape. Here, the West Coast beatsmith serves up a head-noddably catchy soul-sampled instrumental as Brooklyn’s BK Cyph (previously heard on Streets Buchanon‘s Different Over Here) explains what he’s about to do (walk out the door), and what his supervisor can stuff in his mouth if he doesn’t like it (I’ll give you three guesses, and the first two don’ t count). Even those not planning to throw away their livelihood anytime soon should be able to relate to this tuneful track. If you like what you’re hearing, you can find more hot beats and guest features on Numonics’ Booth-sponsored street album, available for streaming and free download here.

I don't think anyone's going to forget Cyph at all, especially with a beat like that behind him.

The concept is pretty sweet. Walking up to my boss and telling him to "Suck My Dick," but this is reality and not everyone is gonna become a famous rapper /star in their lifetime so 2.5 for me.

I've listened four times. Unfortunately, that "Suck my d**k" line seems to be the only thing that stands out (pause). Why? Because the song could have gotten the message across without the inclusion of the line. I'm being picky, I know. Overall, though, Numonics shines the brightest behind the boards.

heck yah F bieng a garden boy/working at my school and getting 6:50 for this bull sh**T. and only in the summer.
this is definitly a "i hate my job" anthem and im digging it. when i get my job im definilty playing this song all day haha yea thats the rebel in me. punchlines got me bopping to this track and i almost actually feel like using that line suk my "(humongous)package" next time i see my old boss if yah no what i mean. delivery is what i like most in this track because of the word play followed by the beat which flowed in conjuction with the head boppin haha i loved it but its still probably not going to get makor love on my mp3 except at my job(whenever i get one that is) |

This is cool, it's true that i probly wouldn't tell my boss to suck my d!ck, but it doesn't mean that i don't really want to! haha this dude can flow and he rides this beat with a genuine energy that you can really feel. I'll probly listen to this on my way home from work with the speakers turned all the way up. 3.5 stars!

A lot of good production featured today, but this may top it. Again with this one though, just doesn't have that flair and doesn't stand out enough.

I dig the theme that he's gonna live out his dream instead of being in a dead end job

Well its definately unique...everything from the title (iThink so anyways) to the subject matter of the song. Its not everyday you here a song about quitting your job. Well actually u hear it all the time on Iowas country stations lol buttttt not on the hip hop scene.

Cyph does a decent job, but Im pretty sure anyone could shine behind some excellent production like that. Love the chorus though, it has been stuck in my head all day long..

Ok im not in the workforce ...yet but im sure ill be bumping this each time my boss criticizes . "tell the boss i quit im free 2x he can suck my dick" is how the hook goes and i can kinda enjoy it. unfortunately alongside the beat, thats what keeps this joint from being very OK. BK doesnt really do it for me in the rapping department. i just feel i know dudes with better flow than that nad with better exection. its in rotation but prolly wont grow on me unless i find a job or a vocation or sumn

Beat--Not bad. Lyrics--Okay. It could better. Sounds like its trying to be a Kanye West - Spaceship type of joint. I'd like to see how he would be on a different track.

Shouts to Numonics on the beat. It bangs... Whole concept of the record is cool.. I mean everyone wants to quit their job right? Though so... Not a huge fan of the hook though.

a 5 for Numonics
a 3 for B a 4 for the track, plus the hook is dope. I love the concept of the track. B coulda done a little better with his verse, but he did well enough to get the point across. "SUCK MY DICK" |

Everything seems pretty well put together, but whats with all these skits lately? I just want to here some nice flow, over some good production...Anyway the track itself was pretty nice, kind of reminded me of Public Enemy-Public Service Announcement-except of course the hook couldn't be matched. Good effort looking for more and better in the future

Beat is very very good...and I think any other rapper could have rapped over this track and it would have been a million times better...The subject matter doesn't go well at all..."Suck my dick" and "Jerk off" those should have been left out as DJ Z explained...Oh well maybe another track by Mr. Cyph will leave out the dick references and then he will have me listening!

Tom Cruise should've had this bumpin in the background...diggin the piece at the end, speaking the truth. Ill beasts and the flo is live. I really need to see this on a commercial for Office Space 2 (somebody should make that too)

I really can't stand the 500 different versions of Yankee hats that are out there. I mean i can see changing the color up, but past that it just gets obnoxious. As a true Yankee fan, it hurts.
Now that I got that tangent out of the way, to the music. Not too impressed with the track overall. Not terrible wordplay or anything like that but it just seems too forgettable. Even the production isn't that impressive and annoying after a while. BK does an okay job with the song but nothing I would consider downloading. |

Man, the beat sounds like an enterprising eighth grader got a hold of a Casio keyboard and recorded the first notes he slammed out. Needs some work.
Cyph definitely drops some good rhymes that we can all sympathize with, although he doesn't take too many risks. The wordplay isn't a problem here, it's just not exceptional at all. He has flow, so I'll give it one star above garbage. I say skip it. It's not garbage, but I won't be playing it again any time soon. And yes, that hat is hideous, not that it matters. |

The intro was unnecessary. The beat was just alright nothing that special. It sounded very old school which is something that I normally like but this was just ok

There a lot of people who feel like this. BK puts those feelings into song form, better not quite the job in this society though, may be all u can get. Good chorus, but not feeling the verses however.
