In a marketplace as crowded as today’s rap game, standing out from the pack is absolutely crucial. And what better way to prove that you’re different than by saying “I’m Different”? OK, the title of Booth newcomer Bizniz Kid‘s latest single wouldn’t mean anything if the Kansan emcee didn’t bring anything fresh and new to the table – fortunately, the record itself bears out his assertion. Backed by his own production, a spacey melange of layered synths and relaxed percussion, the rapper flaunts his creativity in a blunted yet engaging flow (“A guy like me come up with all kind of sh*t / That’s what happens when you mix music with marijuana, b*tch!”), and shifting into a CuDi-esque monotone for the sung hook. Fellow Sunflower State representative, freestyle series alum and reader fave XV takes over on the back end; in his closing verse, Vizzy heightens the stoner-friendly vibe with intergalactic imagery and Pink Floyd name-drops. This joint is certainly out-of-the-ordinary, but it it different in a good way? You tell me, Booth readers. Lets get down to bizniz (see what I did there?). Bizniz crafted a record, from behind-the-board, that I think would have sounded excellent in the hands of Curren$y or Wiz Khalifa (it has that weed rapper vibe). Maybe Bizniz is a weed rapper at heart, maybe not, but the vibe just doesn't suit him (or XV) as well as it should have. With that said, its a mellow listen and proof that talent comes from all corners of the United States.

I'm absolutely loving this beat, and while I will agree with Z that it sounds custom made for some stoner flow, I don't think that Bizniz and Vizzy sound so out of place here. I'm going to have to hear more from Biz before I know if this is his usual rhyme style, but at the very least I'm down to hear more.

Not going to lie, I cant get enough of this song. I'd rather here someone else besides Wiz on a track like this or Curren$y. Im sick of the same people on the same tracks. Bizniz gave it a go, and to me it sounds great. One of my most played songs for this week.
