Baby aka Birdman - Written on Her (Remix)
Artist: Baby aka Birdman
Featuring: Jay Sean , Flo Rida , Mack Maine
Producer: Oddz.N.Endz
Album: Pricele$$
Label: Cash Money Records
On Pricele$$ single number two, Birdman took a break from thuggin’ to go clubbin’ with Down singer Jay Sean – a move that elicited mixed, but predominantly positive reviews from our regulars. Written on Her didn’t end up cracking the Billboard Hot 100, but the Cash Money head honcho didn’t let that discourage him. Today, Baby’s back to scorch the dancefloors once again with the cut’s official remix. As you’d expect, club-hop hitmaker Flo Rida‘s propulsively-flowing opener sounds right at home over Oddz.N.Endz’ pounding, synth-drenched boardwork (retained along with Sean’s reader-acclaimed hook vocals and the headliner’s second verse), and Young Money representative Mack Maine‘s bouncy middle bars are similarly appealing. So, Booth readers, does this revamp soar higher than the original, or was one rendition enough? Whether you enjoyed this crossover jam or prefer Birdman’s more street-oriented material, you can find more on the emcee/CEO’s fourth solo album, due out November 24th.

Flo Rida was perfect for this beat. Wow he smashed this. Mack Maine sounded tight too. For this, it's more about the flow than the lyrics. I don't like it when they retain verses but whatever, Birdman was OK. This is still a banger though.

Dang @ Flo-rida, his CD was one of the best this year IMO, he murders beats like this! Mack Maine was ok on this, shouldh've went with another Top 40 killer, like Pitbull.

Jay Sean is the highlight here. If you remove him from this song, I wouldn't give it more than 1 listen. Rotation for its club appeal, but not a personal favorite.

The original was a CERTIFIED CLUB HIT-like Z said, Jay Sean is the primary appeal here...good thing Birdman's giving him that big promo (Today, "Down" hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Cash Money's 3rd #1 hit, it's first by a non-rapper, and ending the Black Eyed Peas' record-breaking run at the top-coincidentally, the previous record for that was held by Usher, who was knocked off by another Cash Money track-Juvenile's "Slow Motion".) Flo feels right at home here-as he should, because this is a club hit, and Mack Maine adapts well too.
Only question I had (surprised nobody brought this up) WHERE WAS WEEZY? Usually he's on just about every Birdman track...but this is still a banger nonetheless. November 24 is going to be "Cash Money Day," as Birdman, Jay Sean, and Glasses Malone (and maybe Young Money Fam) are all supposed to drop their albums then. Who's going to be the winner? Place your bets... |

With some radio play, this song has grown on me from the first time I heard it. I really like the guest spots on this remix, Flo Rida was a perfect choice to a club-ready, radio friendly hit. Bringing Mack Maine on board was a 100% safe bet to give him some shine on a relatively popular song in the urban market. Nice work by A&R, better work by the artists.

The more guest verses = less mic time for Birdman which makes this joint way more better than Original for me, especially since it retains all the positive elements of the OG i.e. hook and production. Pretty simple, eh?
And I've got to say, it seems Flo-Rida has almost perfected his flow on such club-bangers, as once again his experience shows in his effortless delivery, forcing multiple listens fa sho! |

Man, I was listening to Birdman's "What Happened to that Boy" the other day and that joint was absolutely dope. Point it, he can actually make some really quality hip-hop when he wants to - he apparently didn't want to here.

I thought this was a pretty tight track from Birdman, the hook fro Jay Sean is the highlight, but all the verses are pretty good & the production is solid.

Just remove Birdman. The fact that Baby is in this song diminishes it by a star. Other than that, HOT verses by Mack, Flo, and a sexy hook by Jay again.

The beat is already a certified club banger. A techno/trance club banger. Its the DeadMau5 remix of the song The Longest Road. Morgan Pages most popular song. Suprised that isn't mentioned anywhere..Oddz.N.Endz
