Baby aka Birdman - Loyalty
Artist: Baby aka Birdman
Producer: Kane Beatz and The Mad Violinist
Album: Bigger Than Life
Label: Cash Money Records
If there’s anything that Cash Money is known for, it’s a sense of Loyalty and family values. Apart from the Juve-B.G.-Mannie Fresh fiasco, CM has stuck behind their artists. Although the Hot Boys fell apart, don’t forget that Lil Wayne has stuck around even amidst rumors of his departure to other labels, and it has paid off as he became the biggest “Rock Star” of our generation. Now, Cash Money’s head honcho, Birdman, recruits Wayne and Young Money’s (Most-Improved) artist Tyga for his new single, Loyalty. Lyrically, Birdman and Weezy deliver their exactly what you’d expect; it’s Tyga’s hook and verse that are the stand-out ingredient in the Cash Money recipe while Kane Beatz and The Mad Violinist (a.k.a. “The Building”) team up for production credits, giving us a soulful and inspirational beat that adds the icing on the billion-dollar Cash Money cake. Expect this to be on Birdman’s upcoming album, Bigger Than Life, coming soon. So how about it Booth nation? Are you enjoying this slice of Cash Money cake?

I'm always a fan of members who make sure and comment about the length of time a record has been "out."
Rule of thumb, my friends - if a song isn't even at radio nationwide (which is the goal on this one), that means it isn't old (yet). Tyga outshines everyone hear, which has me geeked for his sophomore set. You can keep Birdman, though, as his glory days behind the mic have been over for quite some time. |

@DJ Z the rate songs are coming out nowadays a week seems like eternity in leaked music, but its not on the radio nor itunes so its still new. Scrubs gotta learn to take this site for granted.

I usually overlook Birdman's lyrical content and focus on his flow and charisma, but this verse was just too recycled for me. Let's leave the Hummer and Summer rhyme alone Birdman. Isn't the Hummer discontinued now anyway? Birdman can make anything sound cool. Try some new material next time.
Lay You Down is an amazing song. Wayne and Tyga have great chemistry together. They can nail that slow, inciteful flow. Great producion and hook. |

I'm starting to realize that Birdman is the Diddy of Southern rap - the best you can hope for is that he doesn't detract from the track, and here he definitely at least is allright.
Throw in a huge beat, decent contributions from Tyga, and the first Tom Petty reference I've ever heard in a rap song from Weezy and you've got a hit. By the way, so we're only rating mainstream artist tracks now? Not cool people. |

Call me crazy, but I really enjoyed the Priceless album. I know Baby doesn't really rap too well, but his flow is nice and ordinarily simple. Perfect for his style and persona. And it works well on the beats he raps on. This one is no exception. Baby does his thing on the Beat and Tyga did good in the chorus and in his verse (Most improved artist of 2009-2010). The Beat is sick and Lil Wayne beat the beat up like Sonny Liston!

Like everyone said, Tyga killed his verse on here, and after hearing this and the Fan of a Fan mixtape, I'm pumped for his album. Lil Wayne did his thing, and Birdman... yeah, we all know he's just kinda there lol but a really good track, definitely a banger.

Wait, Birdman had gloyry days? I mean, rhyming n*gga with n*gga for almost 20 years isn't exactly glory days.
Can't lie though, Tyga is the most improved out of the camp, good for him since he almost killed his own career with that Coconut Juice single way back when. |

@DJBlaze I fully agree with you, most people just listen to Birdman and his continuous 'flippin' and '@*#$!' and go next, but you gotta realise his simple flow and catchyness and he always has krazy catchy beats. This is one of those songz, very nice Birdman, Tyga my fav here, after hearing 'What We Want' from the man I had to find all that he had done, very talented emcee

IT'S FUNNY TO ME THAT BABY IS GONNA MAKE A SONG CALLED LOYALTY. ESPECIALLY SEEIN' AS HE SYNONYMOUS WITH THE LACK THERE OF... IT'S FUNNY THAT (ABOVE) MENTIONED B.G. JUVENILE AND FRESH. EXACTLY WHAT ABOUT THEM???? NOT TO MENTION THE COUNTLESS OTHER ARTISTS THAT THEY HAVE SIGNED, PROBABLY MORE THAN HALF OF WHICH YOU DIDN'T EVEN KNOW THEY HAD EVER SIGNED. THINK ABOUT HOW MANY ARTIST/ALBUMS HAVE BEEN SHELVED AS A RESULT OF THE "BIRDMAN'S" FINGER PRINTS BEING ON THEM. THE ONLY THING IT SEEMS CASHMONEY HAS BEEN LOYAL TO IS $$$$$ THE DOLLAR. WHICH IS ALL WELL AND GOOD UNTIL KARMA ROLLS AROUND. NOW I WILL BE THE FIRST TO ADMIT THAT I AM SUPER HYPED AT THE POSSIBILITY OF A HOT BOYZ REUNION, BUT IF THERE IS ONE THING I HAVE LEARNED DURING THE YEARS BEFORE CM WAS MAINSTREAM AND I WAS A HUUUUUGE FAN IS TO NEVER GET YOUR HOPES UP FOR ANY PROJECT OUT OF THAT CAMP.
THE SONG WAS OKAY AT BEST. THE LACK OF SKILL BABY POSSESS AS A RAPPER/LYRICIST BRINGS THE LEVEL ALMOST EVERY TRACK HIS IS ON DOWN ALMOST A WHOLE LETTER GRADE. (MINUS BIG TYMERS) THANKS MANNY FRESH |
