I can’t think of too many times when I would really want to hear someone’s life story—few experiences are more boring and awkward than smiling and nodding vacantly as someone you’ve just met tells you everything that’s ever happened to them. There are exceptions to this rule: if you’ve escaped from a circus, stolen a motorcycle, and traveled the world with your pet monkey, I’m all ears. Same thing goes if you’re Billy Blue, and you’ve condensed your autobiography into a four-minute song called…uh, Story Of My Life. This track, the latest single off the forthcoming LP of the same name (which has yet to receive a release date), finds Billy taking a slightly more serious tone than on his last feature, Fresh From Head 2 Toe. Backed by a synth horn section and occasional flanged drum fills (courtesy of Lamb), Billy and guest/label head Akon tell it as they see it on the topic of life in the ghetto. Now, if only I could make my life story this interesting—if spit my autobiography over a beat, I’d probably end up sounding like a drunk Glen Campbell unsuccessfully trying to shut off a Casio keyboard, cursing loudly all the while.  And I’m not sure whether that would be a good or a bad thing.

I honestly cannot decide whether or not the production work and hook from Akon, or Billy's vocal contributions, are what makes this song enjoyable. Right now, I am leaning toward the former.

What do my Booth members think?

the production is nice. Akon ripped the hook i cant take billy blue seriously tho, not hsi fault, it just his voice reminds me of the dave chappelle tupac skit too much, but none the less, its still la decent song. Probably be a banger as a remix.

The production is what makes this song hot. The beat is dope and Akon sounds hot on the hook. Billy Blue doesnt impress me at all..a top tier rapper needs to hop on this instrumental quick

Damn Akon sounded great on here. Best hook I've heard from him in a while. The production was pretty tight but this song is a trend I'm starting to see. Great hook from a hook singer, hot production, and sub-par rapping from a virtually unknown rapper (Other examples: Nite Life - Mr. Smilez & Lloyd, Money Round Here - C-Ride & T-Pain, etc.).

@Charm Parker, @Ultimate hip-hop and @GStan10 has spoken for me ....

Probably be a banger as a Remix cos that would lead to less mic space for Billy Blue. 2.5

It is alright, as everyone else said prod n hook are on point, as for billy blue idky but I'm not feeling ya, this seems like a beat any good artist would have killed, so a remix without billy n this will go hard for sure

Akon's hook and the fitting production is the only reason this got a three. They both sounded great.
