Big Sean has been signed for more a minute now, and although has put out a consistent string of mixtape hits, he has lacked the necessary radio hit that artists need to become a household name. Thanks to R&B star Chris Brown and G.O.O.D. Music super producer No I.D., however, Sean’s My Last might actually be “his first” mainstream single. Brown starts off the record with some auto-tuned vocals, as No I.D. sets the mood with some soft keyboard chords that transition well into the hook where a low bass and snare set the pace for the Motown native’s first verse. Sean’s lyricism is always best when he is rapping about what he’s comfortable with: in his case, that means girls, weed, and partying like it’s the last night of his life (kinda like your average 22-year-old male). Whether he’s telling a girl what he’s going to do to her, or what kind of bottles he’ll be popping, Sean is pretty smooth. So, with Finally Famous: The Album set for release in late March, does Big Sean finally have his big hit?

If it means that Def Jam will actually put their foot on the gas and push forward with Sean's (overdue) debut, I am totally cool with "My Last." If not, however, then its just another (sad) case of an artist bending to stiffs in suits in order to get his music heard. Sean is a talented artist, he deserves better. I hope this works.

I like this one for what it is. Triumphant beat by No I.D., although much more uncomplicated / incredible as I'm used to seeing by him. Chris Brown sounds like a pretty cliché pick for a feature for a first single, but I actually like this song quite a bit. Catchy, and Sean always comes proper with the verses. Not mad at it all. I sure hope this one does well on the radio. I'd love to hear his debut in March.

Well I'm going to assume Chris Breezy was added just for adding a known name for radio play or whatever. But I think it's a solid record, I rather listen to this 40 times in a day rather than most tracks radio plays. But I think Chris did well, I liked it. Big Sean did his thing too. I enjoyed it, and I imagine others I show will also too, but yeah, it's probably something you won't keep bumpin' years later.

Chris Brown made this song a hit and not because his name is on the track. His name will make the ladies listen but his contrubution was very good. Sean had a some nice sixteens in the song. I think this will get him some radio play.

This aint classic at all. But a very good radio song. I've been a Big Sean fan for the longest time. And if this the first song you've ever heard (doubt this is cause the booth nation actually know what real music is) then you may think he's just okay. But he's far more lyrical than this song let's ya to believe. But that's okay we should just wait for the album to drop to make final judgements.

Initially, I was looking for that "wow factor" like I am sure everyone else was looking for on this song. I didn't find it. However, after a couple of listens my thoughts of the song came to me. Quite simply, this song is a grower. People will be somewhat hesitant to admit they enjoy it at first, but with just enough radio spins it will grow on everyone. Good ish.
