Big Sean - What U Doin? (Bullsh*ttin')
Artist: Big Sean
Producer: The Olympicks
Album: Finally Famous
Label: G.O.O.D./Island Def Jam
Big Sean‘s initials may be “B.S.,” but his rhymes are the gospel truth; as he explains on the lead street single off his long-awaited Def Jam/G.O.O.D. Music debut, it’s everyone else that’s Bullsh*ttin’. With the Olympicks’ sparse mix of synth-strings and handclap-driven percussion pulsing in the background, the emcee engages in some hardcore stunting, flaunting his cash, his sex appeal, and his grade-A reefer in verses packed with wordplay and pop-culture references: “Bring out the Rozay, and the Siroc / and bring out the OJ, like Johnny Cochran.” Let’s cut through the you-know-what: is this braggadocio-drenched cut dope enough to ensure Finally Famous lands on store shelves sooner than later? We report, you decide. While the LP has yet to receive a solid release date from the label brass, fans can look forward to this track’s official music video, scheduled to debut before the end of the month.

Works as a street single to remind people where Drake got his flow from (oops, did I type that out loud), but I am awaiting the inevitable Kanye-influenced radio hit. I think Sean has it in him... I just want to hear it.

Sean always sounds dope, but he ocassionally resembles Drake on this one. That being said, it's not neccesarily a bad thing, and he switches up the flow so much that it doesn't really matter. This beat is bangin' and I can't wait for the album to drop. One of the most deserving of the Freshman 10.

Thought I was listening to Wayne for a second. Big Sean does this track justice. That beat is tuck in my head, I swear to god. Keep doing your thing Sean.

Nice unique flow on this one. Beat isn't bad either. Just seems like it's missing some kind of flair. Not sure whether I like this or "Way Out" better.

This is a good street single: I like the production and Big Sean's rhymes are on point, but I still feel like he can do better. I am really looking forward to Finally Famous getting released because Big Sean is really talented and a lot of good will come from him working with someone like Kanye. I'll give it a 3.5 out of 5.

aha lovin the sample at the beginning
but wtfffffff whos the artist on here drake or big sean well damn their flow is similar but this sounds like a freestyle though , weres the slow down?? change upp??? and why does the chorus sound crappy??? wow what a mess up though because theirs so much potential with and ill flow from big sean and verses that sting ya dig. uhmm production was sad and whoever directed this needs to redo every thing but the core versus wow i expect the remix to be way way better especial if they can get a guest verse from drake on this joint i give it 3 spins production holds it back from obtaining 4 and it wont get much mp3 play on my system but it deserves a few from the delivery alone!! |

The production was very patchy on this (in parts it was dope, but in others it was weak). Sean's flow was pretty nice and the lyrics were dope, the lads got skills.
For a street single it does its job as it has gotten me keen to hear what his first radio single will sound like. 3.5 |

This song is pretty dope. Like the beat, dont love it. (Its no Fresher Den You by the Olympics). I personally really like Sean's delivery, not sure what a little more "bang" is, but Sean def does his thing on this track. Just saw him in concert yesterday. He said that FF3 is done, and he did say he was gonna drop 2 or 3 songs this week. Here's #1, cant wait to hear the other ones.

Definitely a great buzz single, Power packed with punchlines/metaphors and catchy enough to stick with you...The Olympicks really show their diversity with this one. If you go from Mafia Music 2 to Donnis' Gone to this, it's insight to the fact that these guys will go far. Another win for Detroit lol

Well...It is pretty G.O.O.D. music but that just goes for the verse. The verse was not bad. It def was not "Bull S$#@t" but it was lacking some excitement. The beat could have been alot better though. I would have liked to hear the verse over a K. West beat, even one of his B-Side beats. But I do believe Big Sean has alot of potential. He sometimes comes off as a bit arrogant, but its ok as long as he follows through with some skills and originality too.

Big Sean is up there when it comes to wordplay and especially puncilnes. case in point "i got a million people behind me but i aint verizon" i have been a big fan since UKNOWBIGSEAN and have been wishing for finally famous as much as i wish to win the lottery hes a really entertaining dude but the only problem i have with him is he really cant switch his flow for different tracks and his content is lacking at times. i feel he can do it tho and hope he doesnt dissapoint me like others have the track is typical Big sean and its a banger even without content

No doubt this is a good song. As usual Sean makes me laugh with his pop culture references. The Olympicks deliver some nice production, but it does get a little busy at times. Wish the song was a little longer, but it will have to do for now. Just made me want that radio-friendly-Sean even more.

The beat and the lyrics start out easygoing, but they both speed up and slow down again---I think it works, and it never gets too heavy. High string sounding notes in the background complement some thumpin bass.
He drops some good rhymes, full of bizarre and humorous references (Tarzan and District 9, anyone?). This tune earns its name admirably. Check it out...it's worth a listen. |

Sean's wordplay def catches my EAR similar to Drake. That's a good thing, but that's where the comparison ends for me. He doesn't appeal to the average JOE like Drake or his mentor Mr. West. Kanye Beat x Drake chorus x Sean Bars anyone?

Somehow I could see OJ Da Juiceman in this track saying "Aye, Aye, OKAY" in the background...good thing hes not on here though...I've been expecting big things from Big Sean (pun intended) considering he works with Kanye...but this song makes him sound like a cross between him being high and Drake...He's capable of way more but I could see this growing on me.

B.S. spits the truth. He got the Wayne flow in this one, and kills it. The words are unique and a very decent track. It is a 4-star track, but this song is so funny and unique I'm giving this one a 5. Classic indeed, someone needs to jump on this and make a remix. Fabolous would kill it. Good joint.

Just as everyone has already said, there is definitely a hint of Drake in here, but at the same time its by no mean the same. If played to the average (non-DJBooth) listener, they might think it is Mr Graham, but even though the flow is the same, Big Sean feels just as good, if not better, spitting over this track.
The production sounds a bit generic to me but that takes a back seat to Big Sean's verses. Think if they put Drake and Sean on a track together people would be confused? And thats a shame too. |

Never been a fan of such minimalistic percussion-less beats with on-off notes of electronic melodies sprinkled on top. Big Sean's rhymes are good but song does quickly become a chore to listen to. Basically what @The 149th said, this song is NOT kickin at all.

STREET SINGLE. very different from a radio single. basically call it a leak the label is standing behind.
Drake fans: Realize Sean had that flow a year before Drake did, when Drake was still using the one like on Comeback Season. Overall it's catchy, lyrics are witty. Beat is nice. I like it. |
