Affiliated with Mobb Deep since ‘93, QB native Big Noyd seems like he;s finally ready to step out from behind the shadow of the Infamous’ Mobb. With M.O.P.’s Lil’ Fame on board to executive-produce, Noyd will release his third album, Illustrious, this winter. On the album’s first street single, Noyd brings high energy to his verses while maintaining the dark edge that has caused So Much Trouble. To help set the mood is a reggae hook, courtesy of Serani, and a piano-synth beat via Prince & Machavelli . Illustrious will be released January 22nd on Koch Records.
The bass-line and steady piano melody are banging along with the reggae hook and backdrops. There are so many different styles clashing on this record that is makes it very entertaining to listen to. The quality of music is there, not too crazy about the lyricism however.
Noyd will remain slept on across the country because his goal isn't to go mainstream. Nice to see him ink an album deal through Koch though. QB stand up!
I agree, the hook and beat is really really good. Havoc did his thing on the production for sure, but he probably should have just kept it for himself. I can't even put this in rotation because the rhyming isn't something I would even want to hear again...
put 50 on this !
