In the hip-hop game, larger-than-life-braggadocio has always trumped humility, and it’s a good bet that when Texas emcee Big Geminii decided to title his debut album History in the Making, he wasn’t feeling too modest. On his new single, Amazing, Gem attempts to make all the ladies swoon, and veteran producer, Mr. Lee, adds a few of his signature guitar plucks – perfect for that basement Red Light Special party. While History in the Making has been making some noise in the Lone Star state since its late April release, Amazing’s ear-catching, booty-swaying vibe may be what it takes to bring Geminii’s hypnotic appeal to a city near you. So, are you ready for an artist with broad shoulders, a country twang and plenty of poise?

Damn Z, I thought you’d never give this man a chance! I feel embarrassed putting Big Geminii in my favorite rappers list because I make a fool out of myself since nobody that I know knows him before I give them “History in the making” (great album, go get it!!!) to listen, but… this is the reason why I keep believing in his potential: dude can sing and rap with extreme talent and has attention worthy lyrics. Nice smooth production (love the guitar).
PS: Please feature more songs from “History in the making” regardless of the official single release policy on DjBooth… |

FredRico, glad to see you approve of the new feature. Gem has been on our radar for a long time, it wasn't until recently did his camp reach out to us when we approached them about doing the feature. I really like his project as well.
This is a solid track, has an Everlast feel to it. I'd like to see more enthusiasm over lesser known artists who have the talent to succeed... thoughts? Opinions? |

This is a cool one. Reminds me of a old Bone Thug type track. I'd play it.

I'm a closet Gem fan too! lol
Usually the only song other ppl know by him is "Summer Nights" I agree with Z, there are a lot of lesser known artist out there that people simply dismiss just because they haven't heard of them before or they aren't signed to a major deal somewhere |

They took long to reach the DjBooth in return Z, but I hope this relationship thrives! It’s a shame such good music isn’t valued only because it lacks marketing. They are not 50 cent, but there’s nothing wrong about spending money to make some… more info about the project on the internet would be a nice start, you can’t even know the features on it, production credits, lyrics…
Anytime, Royalty Of NY! @ supagirl3000, I’m positive “To Live & Die in LA” is the song you’re talking about |

Kevin, I must applaud you for adding an artist affiliate of Pocos Pero Locos. Big Gemini's debut album from Upstairs Records has a lot of heart and love - from the smooth and soothing debut single "Hypnotized" to the tribute to pride and family values, "Only Ones." He's come a long way from Dallas, Texas, to get to this point, and he's been doing a great job bringing the right kind of music to his fans and people.
Couple of things: there is a remix of "Hypnotized" released only as a radio edit featuring Upstairs label mate and PPL affiliate Lil' Rob ("Summer Nights") and a special guest verse by Flo-Rida. Chicano rappers working with mainstream artists is such a rarity in the industry, hence the reason Flo-Rida had to be labelled a special guest. |

This is a cool song! The beat is great, production is smooth and catchy. The background guitar is really good and perfectly fits his voice...I particularly like the hook but the whole song is a banger!
