I know it may seem like we’ve been hearing a lot from Big Boi lately, but the truth is the only non-guest work we’ve heard from the Outkast alum in the last six months was the funkdafied Fo Yo Sorrows. Well, thanks to a one-off deal with Def Jam Big’s fantastically named Sir Luscious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty album is back on track, and that means we should be hearing more new music like Shutterbug soon. Featuring some of the best Scott Storch production we’ve heard in a minute – talk about covering a lot of sonic ground – Shutterbug is Big Boi at his eclectically rhyming best, quickly alternating between old school Soul II Soul references (“back to life, back to reality…”) and street laced boasts. Only one man could pull of a lyrical performance like that, and his name is Sir Luscious Left Foot. If the rest of The Son of Chico Dusty sounds this fresh and clean, we might be looking at a new school classic on May 4.

At first it was easy for me to get into this one, but it lost its appeal about halfway through. There's something about Big Boi without a guest feature that makes his solo efforts seem unfinished.
As far as production, it sounds like it has an 80s influence - good one by Scott Storch. |

I like this one. The production was good and grew on me as the song progressed. Lyrically, Big Boi was fire as always! it's definately a banger and I cannot wait for the new album! Hopefully this album will show just how good Big Boi really is not just as a part of Outkast, but as a solo artist as well.

The beat is dope! and layered with various sounds, but above all, driven by bangin! drums that keep pulses pounding and will slap hard in whatever speakers you have, and Big Boi powers it with the flow and extremely thoughtful style of rhyme we know him to. Great breath control and clarity was perfect, the more you listen to the rhymes, the more you will appreciate this song. And the controlled use of vocoder was nothing but more goodness... BANGER!!!

The definition of dope. Not the kind of beat I expect from Storch (he usually does strings, not funk like this) and Big Boi's always eclectic rhymes take it to the next level. It probably won't happen, but I'd love to hear this one blow up on radio.

I think this has a decent balance, I can get into anything OutKast.. although Big Boi tends to sound rambly after a while, the beat and the groove is enough to suffice- especially for club play. I'd spin it.

big boi seems like a good rapper, but i cant seem to find a mix w/ him on solo performances. i digged him in a few songs back in the days as one 1/2 of the outkast and like his verses on songs such as in da wind, im so hood remix, hood n**** remix, etc.. but this to me is in no way appealing and has way too much auto-tune

Aha, this is quite catchy! Big Boi didn't dissapoint with the word play and interrhyming; I love his flow. The kick bass is sick to dance to; poppers and gliders will enjoy this beat no doubt. The guitar was a nice touch, overall i'd agree with the majority; definately a banger.

The funk influence adds a nice, fresh feel to the track, but I feel that it got a little repetitive. The beat had a good feel too. I'm not in love with it, but it was catchy, new and I think after listening a few more times this track will really grow on me.
