Nelly performed at last month’s BET Awards as one of many A-list acts. During a four-minute set the St. Louis native opened with his current single, Wadsyaname, and closed with the Neptunes-produced, Go Lil’ Mama. Primarily using an identical beat courtesy of Pharrell and Co., B.G. has unleashed Bout 2 Blow. It doesn’t take a Hip Hop enthusiast to know something is shady (and no we’re not talking about Marshall.) While B.G. hasn’t needed to ‘blow up’ in quite sometime, the publicity can’t hurt as he embarks on the release of his new album, Too Hood To Be Hollywood, which is set to drop this February.
Burmy you're right, I instantly thought of Fam-Lay once I heard this beat. I haven't been feeling Pharrell's production lately, he always seems to go in cycles because Blue Magic was hot. This is going to have trouble getting airplay.
It takes a certain kind of rapper to really flow over a neptunes beat (snoop comes to mind) and B.G.'s straightforward style just doesn't match the production.
Damn Z, I didn't even know his album was pushed back that far! This is my dude right here! This is a tight production by neptunes but I don't know if this is the right people to make beats for BG. He better have some Mannie-Fresh on his album. But this will definitely make it to rotation. Its smooth enough...
