Wherever there’s a “ladies anthem” that involves a little misandry, there is usually a remix from the male perspective not too far behind. In this case, the cut in question is Beyoncé‘s quickly-rising hit If I Were A Boy, which has been given an unofficial remix treatment by R&B singer Lee Carr. Not willing to merely stand by and let B criticize men and their supposedly chauvinistic ways, Carr offers an opposing hypothetical “if you were my girl” perspective. No matter what gender you are, you cannot argue with the New York native’s message; neither gender is completely innocent when it comes to romantic relationships. Beyoncé’s third studio album, the two-disc I Am…Sasha Fierce, will be available in stores and online on November 18.

I don't think I ever even liked the original too much from Beyonce, but now it seems more relevant, listening to the remix.
Muzik_guru, why wouldn't he do this? I mean, an artist is still an artist at the end of the day. If you start selling yourself short, like telling yourself you are even worthy of mixing your vocals with a legend...you are saying you can never be a legend. But anyways, Lee Carr snapped really nicely on this. I would have liked to hear Trey Songz on this instead though...like on an official remix. |

Meh. Would rate higher if this was her song. She didn't write it but that sure didn't stop her from taking credit. Plus the real version sung by the real artist sounds much better.

Yeah, I heard B didn't write this one and took credit from BC Jean, but I'm def. feelin this remix. Lee brought it much better than I was expecting. He did his thing.

I was so mad after I had given her credit, for a nice ballad tune to find out this was taken from another artist. Kind of no surprise, really but the fact does lie, that this song does not belong to Beyonce. She may have given it a better ballad feel or R&B feel, but give BC some credit or at least pay the girl for the song. I just learned that Lee Carr's debut is slated toward spring of 09, more specifically March 2009. It would be a good birthday present for me if the do go ahead and release it.

I'm sorry this song isn't hers...but I must say she kills it, she's sounding particularly great! I liked the original version but this one with Lee Carr is way way better...my God he has a really sexy voice! Wonderful duet!
