Though the rapper is still relatively unknown to audiences in the States, residents of Canada’s capital city of Ottawa would be shocked to hear someone say he had never heard of Belly. Having picked up a Juno award, recorded a team anthem for the NHL’s Senators, and established himself as a respected commentator on global issues, the emcee’s practically bigger than the Prime Minister! On the latest single off his upcoming sophomore album, tentatively-entitled 7 Days & 7 Nights, Belly describes a Hot Girl who’s well aware of her power over the fellas. Complete with a laid-back guest verse by West Coast legend Snoop Dogg and a sampled beat by Da Heala, Hot Girl certainly has what it takes to heat up the Great North—will it finally get Belly some shine below the Great Lakes?

Snoop what is going on man? Where are you musically? Some of this stuff you have been on lately has been flat out terrible. You know I ride for SNOOP though make no mistake about it. With all that said, this is HOT. Belly's flow was on fire. The S N double O P complimented him well. Beat is on fire, auto tune was used well. This should be successful if pushed the right way.

Yeah this really had me bobbin my head and it's not even meant to be played on computer speakers. Belly was impressive (I've never heard of him either) and Snoop was Snoop. Production and hook were real tight too.

Sorry! to ruin the 4-star train but Im def ain't finding this as HOT as ya'll ... It will mos def get some radio/club play and liked by quite a few people. But both Belly and Snoop ain't doing anything that really stands out ... The overuse of the Title as hook throughout entire song is to the point that by the end of the song, it got annoying. Won't judge on Belly's talent (especially after readin the blurb) and the song succeeds cos its def going to appeal to mainstream and may get him some hype for an album ... Rotation-Stuff.

the production is krazy! the hook is kinda repetitive but still good. only problem i had with it was snoops emphasis on his verses (the adlibs). they seemed off, and was kind of distracting. anyways. good song.

The production is pretty sick and Belly's flow matches it perfectly. Never heard of this guy before but not a bad introduction from the Canadian. Banger!

This is the type of single to get a lot of spines in the club but it might not work for radio. Don't get me wrong I'll listen to this song all day because both Belly & Snoop ripped it up on this track. The beat to me was pretty good not great and the hook by Belly was good to. All I can say is good luck Belly and hope you find success in the U.S.

For those that haven't heard Belly before, you really need to youtube his songs...he comes pretty hard.
Snoop was better one this track than some of the other ones he's done lately and I'm a long time Snoop fan! No disrespect to Drake but he ain't the only hot Canadian rapper out there EH!! |
