Just how bad are Bekay‘s Hunger Pains? Judging by his latest feature, he must be starving to death. On Bloodsport, the second and final single off his forthcoming studio album, the NYC native announces his intent to hunt down and prey on not only his competition, but also you. While the emcee’s threats to pick off mosh-pit denizens with a bow and arrow might lead some to reconsider attending one of his live shows, those who keep a safe distance will find a lot to like here. From Shuko‘s old-school-horror flick strings, to Bekay’s bloodthirsty verses, to guest turntablist’s Dutchmaster‘s spliced hook (featuring lines sampled from Big Shug’s That’s the Way It Iz, ODB’s Brooklyn Zoo and Big Punisher‘s The Dream Shatterer), Bloodsport is pure catnip for lovers of hardcore East Coast hip-hop. Hunger Pains hits stores November 10th; in the meantime, fans should be sure and check out Brain Tumors, the emcee’s recent, reader-acclaimed contribution to our exclusive freestyle series.

Bekay is insane, and I mean that both in the literal and figurative sense. You're not going to hear rhymes like this coming out of any other rapper's mouth, and Bekay deserves to be given his proper respect for his unwillingness to be anyone but himself.

Bekay is saying what nobody else wants/thinks to spit and he does it in a highly entertaining manner. He absolutely smashed (let me repeat: smashed) his DJBooth freestyle and the same holds true on this single.

Once again Bekay delivers an ear-pleasing lyrical assault and the beat is nothing more than a head nod to the golden era. And the fantastic turntablism only enhances the replay value of the track.

I'll definitely look out for "Hunger Pains", the day it hits the web.
