Baron Von Alias - Overload
Artist: Baron Von Alias
Producer: Steesh
Album: Time Piece
Label: Foundation Media
When it comes to hip-hop Americans have a hard time taking anything not made within our shores seriously, especially if they’re British (those accents are just so damn cute). But our xenophobic stereotypes aside, there’s actually a lot of serious rhyme skills coming from across the Atlantic. Case in point: the slightly crazy Baron Von Alias, making his DJBooth premiere with his spacey new banger Overlord. Over an electronically heavy beat from producer Steesh the Baron spits a flow that alternates between slowly winding words and rapid fire lyrical bursts, proving the man’s got some legit microphone abilities. Joining him on Overload are fellow Brits Foreign Beggars, who give the track an additional boost of verbal insanity (as if it needed it). American audiences, myself included, may have trouble truly digging the Baron, but there’s no denying his skill. Overload is a promo single off BVA’s brand new album Time Piece, available online now.

Some of the most talented cats who can spit (and I mean, really f*ckin spit) are from England. No lie.
This is a little too slow for me, regardless of continent, but I can dig the head-nod factor. |

Baron's got some story about how he's a mad scientist from the past who invented a time travel machine and traveled to 2009 in order to make hip-hop, so yeah, the dude's definitely unique, and I'm loving this track on the originality alone.

I love UK Rap/Hip-Hop, and I hope this means we're going to hear more stuff from UK artists.
Seriously, I'd love to hear some more from Sway, Tinchy Stryder, N Dubz, and the like, especially on here. If not here, anyone know of a good website where I can get some of that stuff before it's made it's way to the US after three years? |

Steesh's electronic production paves the way for this track musically and they all rhyme the rhyme well, but for the most part it is decent. Rotation-Stuff.

Not too into this track but I feel that one of the things that this guy doesn't lack would be skill. Wouldn't be surprised if this dude had a crossover/breakout hit in the U.S. sometime in the future

How anyone could hate or find British accents annoying is beyond me. (They're so cute.)
Back to the point of this comment, the song is different. This is what we'd call the good kind of different, though. |

WTF! HELL NO YOU AINT HATING ON THE WAY US BRITISH PEEPS SPEAK! Don’t be stereotyping, the accents used in this rap are made up, this and like all other UK tracks right now are banging! To those calling it ‘wack’ listen to what their saying rather than getting all excited and wacking off about the accent…and to the guy who says our accents make him wanna punch a baby – your just a jealous insecure mo fo, why else would you feel the need to let everyone know how you feel about a British accent!

MC Vapour - the grey skies ft. Mr Faizer Mr. Faizer - My Kingdomm those are two BANGERS, check em' =] |

I have always been a fan of UK... one comment talked about other UK that reps well... I love KANO has he has skill, but it seems like he has fallen off the face of the earth. Also The Streets are pretty good as well.
Back to this one, I like it, accents aren't an issue at all, skill is skill no matter the accents. |
