In a day and age where every word can be torn apart, debated and argued, most rappers have simply found it more convenient to say nothing. Not Bambu. As always the L.A. emcee uses the power of the microphone to full effect, delivering a rap Sermon on his new video single. Producer Esta provides a laid back beat that could have easily been a new drinking anthem, but while giving a nod to the good life, Bam lets it be known that he’s a man of money and principle: “Not that I make the kind of money that might compromise my principles / if I can organize while collecting my residuals, I’m good.” You can count on Bambu to say exactly what’s on his mind on his upcoming album …one rifle per family, due out September 18 via Beatrock Music Label.

I love how the subject matter is serious, the tone is serious, the ending is serious, but the process is witty, sarcastic and pokes fun. Nice balance.
Bambu, whose garage did you shoot this video in? Its a garage, right?! |
