Balance and the Traveling Sounds - I'm Comin Back
Artist: Balance and the Traveling Sounds
Producer: Balance and the Traveling Sounds
Album: Departure EP
Label: Unsigned
Balance and the Traveling Sounds’ itinerant lifestyle may mean they’re never in one place for more than a few days, but they don’t stay gone for long—as the Golden State newcomers put it on their first featured cut, “I’m Comin’ Back, comin’ back for more…” A standout off the live-band crew’s latest EP, this newly-leaked cut finds producer EBO drummer Julian Hogan, saxophonist Jeff Kolhede, guitarist Ryan Kern and bass guitarist Scott Fulton coming together to deliver one of the lushest instrumental grooves I’ve heard in an long minute. Over his colleagues’ funky rhythm section, screaming guitar licks, jazzy sax accents and old-school cuts, MC Kirb rocks the mic with appropriate gusto, spitting a loosely-plotted but effective chronicle of survival in the face of long odds and numerous setbacks—from the strife and uncertainty that are part and parcel of urban poverty, to the weight of past failures. Vocalist Mike Eddie delivers the coup de grâce in the form form of a fist-pumping, never-say-die chorus. Is your interest piqued after a listen to this musically virtuosic motivational anthem? More is only a mouse-click away—released September 13, the crew’s Departure EP is available now online.

I'm not really feeling this production or the lyrical ability of the artists. I'll pass on this one. Not my type of music at all.

Blaze, just because it isn't your "type" of music doesn't mean its garbage! C'mon, man.
This vibe - for me - is excellent. Great headphone music with... um... actual musicians behind the boards. This isn't meant for the mainstream, the radio or the club, so if you can still dig it there is more than enough to like here. |

Damn Blaze it's like the old sayin goes..."100% of haters is unrealized potential" and you sir are hatin on some dope ass music. I did a lil more research and found a live vid of them payin tribute to Dilla. Check it out. Now if you're not feelin the musicianship that these young boys bring, than somethin is wrong with you brotha! -Trey http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRLRcVSLOcI

Love the instrumentals and the scratching at the beginning. It reminds me a little of Gym Class Heroes. I thought he song was kinda all over the place, at first I thought it was gonna be more beat/hip-hop heavy, but it ended up being very catchy and poppy. I bet they would be cool live.
