Last week, DJBooth was backstage at Chicago’s “Hip-Hop Invasion ’08,” which featured performances by Baby Bash, Three 6 Mafia, and Kardinal Offishall. Following his opening performance, Baby Bash sat down with us for a brief interview, as we discussed his forthcoming studio album and its lead single, That’s How I Go. Produced (and featuring ad libs) by Lil’ Jon and featuring a hook sung by Mario, the record is classic Baby Bash; attractive to the ladies, just crunk enough for the fellas, and the perfect blend of smooth and rough to get backing from radio program directors and DJs. Although Bash’s forthcoming Arista/RCA release is currently untitled, DJBooth will be sure to provide more information as it is provided to us. Why? Because that’s how we go.

I've had this on my iPod for about a month and Im glad you guys posted it because it is getting a lot of plays on my iPod. The Lil' Jon beat is catchy and snappy but does not ruin the club type feel of the song. Baby Bash and Mario's vocals were hot and Lil' Jon didnt talk too much! This is well produced..banger for sure!

I definitely like the production. Mario has a smooth vocal presence. The song sounds a little dated though. Baby Bash is decent, but he never really amazed me...ever. The verses got pretty boring after a while and the hook is not good at all to me in my opinion. I definitely will never listen to this again unless it's involuntary.

Lil Jon is slowly making his comeback in the game, this production is solid, as many have already pointed out. Great crunk, radio vibe. Sorry though, I have never been a fan of Baby Bash and feel that his style is so repetitive on every track. The hook is pretty catchy though, and I like the addition of Mario. This may get some play from me, but still not too crazy about it.

Jon how long you gon use that sound? Switch it up man. This song is corny. I can see this being a hit in the clubs. I can't see myself playin it personally though.

i really like this track - beat and production is real smoothe real catchy. i agree bash aint the greatest artist alive not even close - but lyrics to this song w/ mario on the hook and lil jon beat flows well. bangin track for me

Good to see Lil' Jon having a more consistent output recently... I really think that Mario is among the best of today's R&B singers along with the Ne-Yo's, Chris Brown's etc. Everything he does he str8 murks! Baby Bash is okay, nothing special. Had this on my ipod for a while, its getting plays.....

Chris Brown should not be considered one of today's best R&B singers. He does not belong in the same category as ne-yo because ne-yo, jamie foxx, or anybody else with a good decent voice would blow him out of the water. Chris relies too much on voice enhancements and other voice altercations to make him sound decent. Anyways this song is pretty good. It would suck without Mario though.

DJdjohn, like it or not, Chris Brown is a driving force in R&B and entertainment and I'm sure he has big things in stored for the future...SO GET USED TO HIM! I mean, who says he can't sing without the voice enhancements. I think he can. They just put those on to soup them up more. Ne-Yo & Jamie could also be using them as well....but they can sing with them too.

pffffff ! This beat is exactly the same as the beat of Bow Wow's song "Eighteen" from his album Unleashed.
Meanwhile, this song is not that bad at all. |

Man, I was about to say!!! At least somebody knew (DJ MiNouSH), Lil Jon jacked this beat from that Bow Wow track off Wanted. Bow Wow's song is called "When I Turn Eighteen" or simply "Eighteen", it was a hidden track, the last one on Wanted. So everyone be aware that the production was jacked.
Regarding the song, its decent, I like the beat, Bash does his thing, Mario seems a bit out of place but sounds good. Otherwise its a decent song, don't think it will have as great of appeal as "Cyclone", but its cool. |
