B. Dolan - Fifty Ways to Bleed Your Customer
Artist: B. Dolan
Producer: Alias
Album: Fallen House, Sunken City
Label: Strange Famous Records
As those who tuned in for his Booth-exclusive video interview (shot backstage at ‘09’s Rock the Bells opener) already know, B. Dolan is far from your average rapper. Along with his lovingly-maintained, biker-esque beard and his affection for all things pug-related, another trait that sets the underground emcee apart from the pack is his perspective on the the pursuit of the Almighty Dollar. On his latest album leak (and first Booth feature), Fifty Ways to Bleed Your Customer, Dolan takes a look at our corporate culture, skewering the profit-mongers who would (and do) feed the public poison to make a quick buck. Backed by the appropriately maniacal, percussion-driven boardwork of Alias, the emcee delivers fragmented shotgun blasts of aggressively satirical lyrical ammunition: “We sell Brand X seatbelts and planned obsolescence, clinical trial coverup, never crash-tested…” Sure to earn repeat spins from heads with a penchant for radical rhetoric, FIfty Ways can be found on B. Dolan’s Fallen House, Sunken City LP when it hits stores and online retailers March 2.

B. is definitely talented but far as the song, it was kind of all over the place. How the beat kept changing up started to get annoying and was distracting.

After hearing it for a 2nd time, I wasn't as focused on the beat and got to pay attention to some of his lyrics better. Good stuff, it's just a shame the production takes away from it.

If you've seen B. Dolan live then you'd know that he records songs like he is performing for a live audience. I love the high, no-holds-barred energy. You cannot deny his heart is in his music. The hook comes and goes a little too quickly for my liking, but B. isn't about catchy and consumer-pleasing hooks. Great message, dope production, overall solid.

There are times when I'm in a revolutionary mood, and when I am I usually reach for Dead Prez and Immortal Technique. Looks like I can now add B. Dolan to that mix. The track could have used some work on the production end, but it definitely gets its point across.

Tight flow spitting aggressive and angry lyrics over a beat that equally matches the intensity.
