B. Dolan - Earthmovers
Artist: B. Dolan
Producer: Alias
Album: Fallen House, Sunken City
Label: Strange Famous Records
I’ve always wondered what it would feel like to walk on the moon (sadly, shackled with two left feet, I can’t even pretend Mike Jackson-style). However, I do take solace in knowing what zero-gravity clubs will be bumping when we decide to colonize deep space, namely B. Dolan’s Earthmovers, a track that couldn’t get any more out of this atmosphere. The coupling of Alias’ haunting, club-ready production with Dolan’s smooth flow and almost alien distortion make me feel like I need to buy a space suit to thoroughly enjoy the track. The Rhode Island emcee does some ill lyrical work with his bars, translating his vision of breaking ground into the music industry into other-worldly ventures: “Never mind the mess, we going to mars next/ father of the project, god complex.” If you like what you’re hearing – well, do you? - fly on over to his Fallen House, Sunken City album, set to drop on March 2 (and don’t forget the space suit).

You ever ask yourself "Does this artist even care about rapping?" (I do, sorry had to share). Well, when you are listening to a record by Mr. Dolan, you never ever have to ask yourself that question. Why? Listen and it will all make sense.

Sounds like the beat is too all over the place to match Dolan's relaxed flow. These two components, separate, are good, but together don't work very well.

the beat got my head nodding buy they synth fx is annoying ass shit...and i don't believe that he needed that "devilish voice" it just din fix this track like that...dude got some bars though...flow is ok, and sometimes the song was irrelevant, the hook sounded like something he pulled out of his ass, and then at the end was the annoying ass beat, just a waste of space, his flow and bars couldn't have save this song, he gone have to try harder than this because this is straight...

To say Dolan is on some different Sh*t is a understatement. Not a journey that I see myself taking over and over, but it is what it is.
