Considering Azealia Banks has been going with an underwater theme for her new Fantasea mixtape (see previous release Aquababe), it’s only fitting that her new single pays homage to the true king of the sea, Neptune. Producer Ikonika returns to familiar territory for Banks, giving her a beat that’s part dancehall, part EDM, part hip-hop and all bounce. On the mic Azealia alternates between sweet signing and more of her signature fiercely sexual rhymes. Speaking of which, London rapper Shystie gets even dirtier and stronger on the guest verse, ensuring that Neptune will generate the buzz Banks needs to make the Wednesday, July 10 release of Fantasea a success. And then we’ll just have to wait and see what she has in store for us on her upcoming Broke With Expensive Taste album, tentatively dropping this fall.

Azealia has really grown on me in the last few weeks. Maybe telling people that she isn't a rapper (lies) was the best move she could make. Because now all I think about during her music is how she has grown as a rapper, excuse me, artist, and how she reminds me slightly of a less weird and much thiner Missy Elliot.
