AZ has been a pretty busy man of late. After releasing Undeniable this past April, the former Firm emcee dropped his Certified SOSA mixtape to much of the industry’s chagrin. On his new single, Magic Hour, however, it’s ’93 all over again. The Brooklyn-born lyrical assassin links up with the rap game’s black sheep, C.L. Smooth, and together they work up a little David Blaine over producer Tone Mason’s sample-heavy track. Like his past hits, Magic Hour showcases the diverse talents that put AZ head-and-shoulders above other young up-and-comers. The emcee’s Anthology (B-Sides & Unreleased) will be released on November 18, a week before Final Call: The Lost Tapes.

You know I'm a sucker from Sample Heavy tracks! I've been liking AZ lately. He did decent on this, BUT FAM...Mr. "They Reminisce Over You" (MY GOD) himself OWNED this track. I definitely co-sign when people say "THIS IS HIP HOP!".

Ay, the production sounds like the same sample from this group called "Big Quarters" on this song called "Ladies Know" They are a duo of hot emcees from Minnesota. You should go check that song out @ http://www.myspace.com/bigquarters and get at me if you want me to send it to you.

This is not my type of song...it's real hip hop, nice flow, nice beat and nice background sample, but this kind of songs just bore me so I won't rate ;)

The only reason I commented on this one was because I saw CL Smooths name next to AZ. "They Reminisce Over You" is one of my favorite songs ever. THIS IS HIP-HOP. We need more of this and less Soulja Boy.

It definetly has that old school vibe.I've never listened to AZ and was drawn in when I saw CL Smooth was on the track. CL has not disappointed me yet, and he delivers very nicely on this track. Az held his own, but CL took the spotlight in this track.
