Nas’s forthcoming album might have experienced a change in title (from N*gger to Untitled), but it seems to have inspired former Firm group member, AZ. On August 5, the Brooklyn native with release a mixtape project with DJ Absolut, entitled N4L: Niggaz 4 Life. Claiming support of Nas’ current music movement, AZ wrote on his MySpace page, “…You can expect [the album] to have conceptual n*gger records and freestyles!” Deemed as “Phase One,” the first record to be released from the project is The Secret, featuring appearances by Charlie Rock and The Clan’s Raekwon, with production from Addicted 4 Life. With distribution through Koch, the release of N4L is likely to receive heavier media coverage than both of AZ’s last two studio albums combined.

The beginning made the song feel epic for some reason. These boys are spitting. Beat is alright. This is one of those songs I wouldn't listen too more then once though. Nice lyrics

I loved the intro, it was Flyy as h3ll, but after the beat started playin and he started spittin, i couldnt listen anymore...

My man AZ is back with a banger. The drums beat is murderous. Everything about this track screams: I am the STREET!

well i disagree with WOW & Kayleb about the beat.
i think the beat go hard. BUT i aint connectin with the lyrics, or his flow. so this song is a no. |

Interesting drum beat, but it was sort of a let down from the intro. Well I wouldn't say let down, it just wasn't what I expected.

This was not bad. Kinda reminded me of a old school west coast gangsta beat. Rae killed it! AZ and rock were solid. This was aiight!

I agree DJ LP....the beginning definitely made this feel epic. I love those drums! This is definitely early or mid-90s music right here. It was actually real decent to me. I'll throw it in rotation. BTW, please clarify this WOW:
What in flippin' tarnation is: x-pand and HOR-A-BULL! LOL. If I would EXPAND on that, I'd say that was HORRIBLE spelling. LOL. But this is nice though. I would throw it on a shuffle and listen to it every once in a while when I got tired of everything else on the radio. I'm liking the Booth's 90s vibe today. Y'all can't tell me this was a coincidence. LOL |

I like this beat. AZ always goes hard. He's on of the most underrated of all time. Charlie Rock was okay. Raekwon killed this.

I honestly didn't like his last release too much at all. This, however, is MUCH better. 4, but this is made underrated! The FIRM needs to get at least ONE MORE JOINT done together. I have a feeling this tape is going to be better than AZ's last few works.
