AudioDax - Thoughts (Crystal Castles Remix)
Artist: AudioDax
Producer: Temble (of AudioDax)
Album: Vampire Castles (Our Take) Mixtape
Label: Unsigned
After hearing emcee-producer duo AudioDax bring us some of the most musically adventurous yet pop-appealing tracks to hit the Booth in a minute, I couldn’t help but wonder what artists they listened to on the regular. If you, too, have been hankering for a peek into rapper Krypton Flo and singer/beatsmith Temble‘s record collection, you’re in luck – the Midwesterners’ next project will find them remaking a number of their personal faves. On leak numero uno, Thoughts, AudioDax take inspiration from experimental electronic duo Crystal Castles, flipping the Toronto natives’ dark, brooding Empathy into a more upbeat, club-ready concoction. Over Temble’s chopped-up take on the original beat, Krypton spits some of the most complexly braggadocious bars we’ve heard from him to date: “See me on my grizzy, I’m beastin’ kind of grizzly(,) bear/bare with me like I’m skinny-dippin’ down in the Mississippi.” Fans can hear more flipped versions of the records nearest and dearest to AudioDax’ hearts on their Vampire Castles: Our Take mixtape, which has yet to receive a solid release date.

This remixed version of "Thoughts" is def not for everyone. Its a 'yes' if you like your new music fresh, eclectic, out of left field, and like a melting pot pull of unique sounds. If not, then 'no'. For everyone, I am curious if there is an in-between.

This is unlike AudioDax's normal stuff so far. But it's still just as good. AudioDax is becoming one of my favorites.

OK don't get me wrong, I really do like AudioDax and here the verses are on point, but the production is all over the place. I'm gonna give this one a miss

This is just okay. I like AudioDax but I wasn't able to connect with this track, not sure why... I just can't pinpoint why it doesn't mesh with me.

Wow, this is way off the Audiodax path and they kinda pulled it off. This shows off the true capabilities of Matt's flow. While I probably won't be replaying this too much it does show off the duo well.
