Thanks to the independent success of her debut album Same Girl (whose single Ewww Ewww peaked on our underground charts and became a focal point for numerous press releases), Twin Cities fly girl Auburnlanded herself a deal with JR Rotem’s Beluga Heights label via Epic/Koch. Shortly after her flight from St. Paul to Cali, the 18-year old phenom unleashes her first buzz single from her upcoming debut. Much in the same vein as Ewww, Auburn once again turns down a ‘big shot’ dude, seeing right through his Superman-like front. Catering directly to his young artist, Rotem provides a party-ready beat to help Superman leap tall charts in a single (more or less) bound. Will Auburn follow in Sean Kingston’s footsteps? Find out later this year.
Auburn came nice on this. The Twin Cities is definitely represented. I like this. It's a fun song and Auburn is a fresh artist. Sounds like she actually is ragging on Soulja Boy and all the "Crank Dats" and stuff. Lil Mama do have some competetion I suppose, but if you have actually heard all of Auburn's first album, you'll know she is way more than just a novelty artist. She can do these fun songs, do some serious R&B and spit a little bit. So take all that in consideration and rate it based on that. I don't want to see the "hip hop purists" DJs on here hating or talking that same gibberish on here, like a certain Royale we all might know on here.
i like it...its different allows u to see her personality through audio, n thats big...lyrics are a cheezy...tho this is good mixtape music for the clubs its cool but doesnt display her vocals much its just ok to me....but since i know wat she can do ill give it a 3.
When she sings; she sounds a lot like Sean Kingston style! I am not really feeling this track...I hope I don't sound sexist; but I just don't think I like to hear women rap anymore. It just doesn't sound right unless it has a Fergie type twist to it (once in a while it's ok). This is just OK to me...decent flow; but nothing to remember the name of the artist.
This song is funny as hell. I could see it working at the clubs. Its not my style of music, but I can't be a hater, cuz this song will be a banger with the ladies.
"You had no friends on myspace"...auhauhauhauh this is so perfect for the myspace-generation (I am included)! This song is very funny and cheerful but I wouldn't add it to my iPod...it's good for clubs! It's in rotation I guess
haha im actually lovin this, young woman just rippin crazy lyrics, she sounds young and raps with "young" lyrics which is kind of funny to hear "ooo they think they like me" thats not very likely hahaha
No anit no one going to be in the club jamming saying oh you think you superman now he think he spiderman ??? prolly for 12 year olds theres not enough of them out there going to like this to make her a start hey JR lol sean was a good find dont waste your time on this one you getting ahead of your self youll lose money on this girl stick to sean he gonna make some bangers and money... Garbage
The primary demographic currently spending money on music (albums, mp3s, ring tones) is women, within the age range that Auburn appeals to. Will traditional hip-hop heads love this? No. But that is the reason why traditional hip-hop artists are not selling records...
second song today named superman...sounds like some nikelodeon mickey mouse club shit...but this superman is much much better than that other dude...plus is this lil mo jr??
Ha, maybe this is a response to Young King's "Superman." A good song and sounds like she has a good sense of humour. Even if she is trying to appeal to women her age, I don't think this is in line with a hot-selling record like "Low."
naw, i dont like dis...and DJ Blaze i kinda agree- rapping soundz betta w/ guys do-n it...i need men sing-n to me- ya kno? haha......overall songz not 4 me.
To clarify my comment, I also don't prefer female rappers (sorry ladies) but many try to put on that manly persona, but here Auburn acts like what she is, a young girl, so thats why I gotta show respect and shes got some real cheesy gimmicky lyrics, and she knows it. Nothing i've heard has sounded like this. Not to mention, agree with above comments that women around her age are major buyers of rap albums, I could see her sellin big.
This song did just what it was supposed to do and that was to get you talking. The song is NOT even a the real single single it was something they wanted to have fun with, why do you thing the video is only on You Tube and her My Space page? Just wait until you hear the real single, believe me it will be all over your radio's. Lil Mama WHO??? First she can't rap, she can't sing and has no style. Auburn will be a ghost writer for Lil Mama's wack ass.
i finally listen to this osng today dont get me wrong i love auburn been a fan of her for a minute now .. but this whole superman phase is overr .. i like the eww eww song that was crack .. and fly away .. but this is not doing it for me
