In late November, DJBooth featured singer Asia Cruise and her debut single, Selfish. At the time, her labels (Hitz Committee and Jive/Zomba) kept her identity under wraps and only used a silhouette photo to promote her record. In the three months that have since passed, however, the world has been privy to both Asia’s looks and identity and the young singer is now about to embark on the release of her debut album, Who Is Asia Cruise?, this spring. Coinciding with the premiere of her new video for Selfish, label mate Huey has jumped on a remix to the CornaBoyz written and produced record. In the song Asia talks about a boyfriend who always gets what he wants; will she be just as fortunate?
I woulda expected Huey to be wack on this, but I shoulda known that he would come sort of correct. I used to think he was trash with the "Pop, Lock and Drop It" stuff, until I heard "Nobody Loves the Hood". The girl is a'ight. She ain't a extravaganzical singer or nothing. But marketable as a novelty or summer jam maker.
BANGER...If I had planned the Official Remix, I would have the Cornaboyz' ol' potna join Huey on there...that's right, the ol' President of Milwaukee Rico Love would kill this track right there! But Huey comes cool too, I just wish fans would see more to him than "Pop, Lock, & Drop It"
i think the marketing ploy was a bad idea because all the hype she built up doesnt do anything for her looks...im not sayin shes ugly or anything but its like the flashing lights video i would have liked it a lot more if there was no hype 'ye kinda let me down... and for the hype she had it would have worked great if she was a little more lucy liu-ish ya digg
Is this the chick that had a sillouette as her Promo pic to start off with? I thought she'd be tighter than she is. Now to the song, its not really my style, but I'll throw it into rotation.
BOOOOOOO! I wanted to like this song. The chick is cute. But this just comes off as lame. Huey does a good job, but the chick just sounds lame, unexcited when she sings the hook... ugh... went from 3 stars to 1 just like that
I like the orignal song better i cant hate on the girl this is going to be the next ladies anthem.. they play this on the radio its over this is going to become every girls favortie song so they can point fingers... lol boo on hueys verses.
im kinda on the fence with this song. its super catchy and im movin to it while i listen, but her voice doesnt really sound special or nothin. and huey...i never wanted him to be a one hit wonder and his cd had sum good songs on it. but neways, he doesnt sound too bad on the track.
From most of Huey's singles I expected this to be fairly bad and for his feature to be worthless, however on the contrary for me he makes the song. Asia Cruise is good, definite summer hit maker, very good voice but nothing AMAZING. In rotation. Beat is typical for a singer like this and hook doesn't stand out as much from the rest of the song as I would have liked.
Not feeling this at all....she does sound like she has potential...who d-bo'd her into putting huey on the track....would say weezy would have ripped it but this too corny for him...
Her first song was pretty cool. I am not sure if I see what the huge deal is about her just yet, but she must have something special for the way she has been treated by "the machine". This is average right here. Still waiting for the crazy huge hit.
You should check out the other remix to the song on You Tube. The beat sounds like Dark Child, but it was actually done by Trinity Productions.

Forget all them haters and the people who don't have no taste. I love all her songz. She has a beautiful voice, and is very talented. Keep doing your thang girl.
