Asher Roth - More Cowbell
Artist: Asher Roth
Producer: Blended Babies
Album: TBD
Label: SB/SRC/Def Jam
Remember that skit on Saturday Night Live where Christopher Walken requests “More Cowbell”? Well, that is the inspiration behind Chicago production team Blended Babies new collaboration with Asher Roth. Having already professed his love for college and reminded us of his daily G.R.I.N.D., though, its now simply time to wait for the Philly native to share with us his next set of plans.

Wow... I gotta say I'm lovin' this. The production isn't outstanding, but it's also not bad either. The high point here is definately Asher. Excuse me if I'm mistaken, but I heard references to That 70's Show, Greek mythology, and the Simpson's all in the same verse. And it still made sense! Not all of Asher's stuff is great, some of it seems too lyrically forced like he's trying to fit in too much clever stuff. But he made this one work. 4.5.

Asher Roth is a mystery to me. Either you like him or you dont. He has nothing about him that makes him a superstar, and I dont think he even wants to be. This song is case in point...infact this song has no point. He spits a couple creative bars over a simple cow bell and electric synth led beat. I dont know Asher, I aint feeling it.

Man, I'm losing my faith that Asher can improve. It's like he's dropping the same track over and over again.

I love Asher. He put out I Love College to get on the radio, and get people to talk about him. His other stuff, it's better.
