While Ashanti fans have waited patiently for the singer to release an up-tempo song, music bloggers everywhere have been itching to feature a collaborative record with rumored beau, Nelly. Well, Ashanti aficionados rejoice, because Long Island’s princess of The Inc. has teamed up with the St. Louis emcee andAkon for her new single, Body On Me. Set to be featured on her fourth EP, The Declaration, the song features a female singing lead, along with an opposing male lyrical perspective (a throwback to the early days of the Murderous ones?) For his part, Akon provides a two-stepping, smooth-piano beat, and sings a relatively unambiguous and clever hook. The Declaration is expected to hit stores and online retailers on June 3.
Damn! Im very impressed. Nelly and Akon on a track together should have happened way longer ago because they sound great together. I will be bumping this all summer long, its a good summertime record. Ashanti does her thing on here too, this is what they call a BANGER!
This is one of the best Akon productions I've ever heard. I didn't dig the new Ashanti song when she returned...but THIS IS A HIT! Akon came super smooth on the hook. I can definitely dig it. Ashanti is officially back correctly with this one. Nelly was good in this too. Good to hear him back rapping (I don't know what he was doing on that "Party People".)
cb126405 your right, this should have happened a longg time ago, they all sound GREAT on this one, Nelly finally makes a good song after the last few flunkers he's has on the Booth, and Akon flowss really smooth.. The Inc. will definitely be rising.
I like this version1 I heard the one with just nelly and akon and that on e was missing something now I realise what it is. ASHANTI FINE SELF! nice track!
Everytime I see there's Akon in a collaboration I get a lil' surprised...I must be silly or what, I should have understood that he is EVERYWHERE lately lol
As for the song, I'm a girl (it's supposed to be for girls I guess) but I don't like it so much...ratings are very high but it isn't a banger to me, it's kinda boring! I've heard better...a song by Ashanti I really like is Only You, this last would be my kind of song! In rotation, though
thas' wussup. not a fan of akon but he came super smooth on this track and nelly did his thing too.that party people and that j's song are kind of a mess. i hope brass knuckles makes up for its singles.ashanti's new one is gonna be a summertime banger if most of the songs on the album are like this and more up tempo
i feel like ive heard dis before...dontsayno says lil fizz, i think dats where i heard it before...poor fizzy baby...but i like dis...nice smooth summer traffic...cute
I LOVE IT AND IT DOES SCREAM SUMMER HIT. ITS VERY VERY HOTT I LOVE IT.ASHANTI IS DOING IT EXTRA BIG THIS TIME AROUND I LOVE HER. THIS IS GONNA WIN A BEST COLLABORATION AWARD. THE DECLARATION JUNE 3RD
Anybody who has said this would be a great album track is 100% correct. The fact of the matter is that even with a discount on Nelly, there is no way you pay for an Akon beat/hook and only use the production as a filler song. You have to roll with it... It's like a bad free agent signing in sports, you gotta play the player...
Honestly, Akon is one of the best hook singers ever. Nelly and Ashanti do sound good together, too. As for this song, I agree that it's a good album track (mainly for Akon), but other than that, its not that tight.
I like the song, for Akon's participation. Everyone else does alright, but Akon's work just carries it all. Hell by the songs end he is the only memorable part, coupled with the beat.
I wouldn't mind a remix with Ja Rule featured on here! Solid effort from all 3 of them on this track. I think it has radio-potential. Maybe not a #1 smash, but it had my head bobbin'!
damn thiss track gets around more than t-pain on hooks...good god the version with nelly and akon ONLY was better...fall back ashanti, nelly should of kept this for himself!
this song is soooo good i love ashanti ans for ha to come out with a hit like this that is what i am talking about this is a top charter i dnt care what anyone think a me ashanti is one of the best singers alive.
ashleykim couldn't say it any better. Boring and basic. This song should be played once and never again. It sounds like they had a few minutes to kill and threw this together to pass the time. I will give credit to Nelly for actually tryin on this one. Must of been Ashanti's ass..I mean talent that brought it out of him!!! Ha! Ha!
Damn! I really miss Ashanti. Especially now that I've grown tired of hearing Beyonce. It seems Ashanti is ready to make a come-back. mmoore... Ja Rule on the remix?? Straight Fyah!
luv it an she aint even started singin oops i mean akorn(akon) aint started...i memba when her an ja rule was takin ova tha industry...she still holdin it down she is also in jet magizine
