Slakah the Beatchild
Good Morning Yesterday

Update: We have added the Illvibe-directed visuals for Art of Fresh single Amerika.

Usually, when hip-hop artists spell “America” with a “k” (or three, in Ice Cube‘s case) some fiery political rhetoric is sure to follow. So listeners might be surprised to find that Canadian duo Art of Fresh‘s latest single, Amerika, doesn’t say a word about socio-economic inequality, Predator drones, NSA spying or any other contemporary controversy. In fact, Slakah the Beatchild and D.O. seem pretty damn happy with the U.S. of A. Here, Slakah’s glossy electronic beat (complete with his own smooth chorus vocals) sets the stage for carefree verses from his partner-in-rhyme, who seems more concerned with having fun and making music than fomenting revolution. This is just one of many fresh cuts slated for inclusion on Art of Fresh’s Good Morning Yesterday LP, scheduled to drop via Northstar Entertainment in spring of 2014.
