Entry #58 in our DJBooth.net Freestyle Series comes courtesy of Archie Eversole, the ATL heavyweight who recently returned from a six-year hiatus with his Back Like I Never Left mixtape. On his brand new, previously-unreleased Uptown A-Town freestyle, the Slummed Out/Dry Rain Ent. rapper flows over a Boy-1da & Northern Profit-produced instrumental originally featured on Drake‘s Uptown. Eversole is currently busy solidifying the Gracie/EMI distribution and marketing deal through which he will release his second studio album, also titled Back Like I Never Left. The forthcoming LP will feature beats by Dry Rain head honcho Needlz, Maestro, the Track Starz, and many more.

Drake beats are the choice selection this week (no lie, we planned that out). Archie brings some ATL swagger to the series with a dope twist on the Uptown that Drake used to spend numerous weeks atop our charts.

Gotta have confidence to throw a track over something Drake put a stamp on. Eversole did well on it, but if its compared to the original....3 starz for the gumption, son.

Whats with the ghetto instrumental? Its irritating. I expect the beat to go a certain way, but it loops back instead. Verses were extra regular.

I see how they tried to @ive their own spin to the beat, however I am so used to the Drake version, that it's kinda irritatin@ to listen to. Archie ain't bad, but a@ain its difficult to jud@e cause, of that same reason. I can't say I'ma be listenin to this version, but I'll be lookin for more from Archie.

i have not heard archie in a long time its good to hear him again as far as the song goes i like it the only problem i have with it is i dont think its a freestyle at all
