Let’s face it; we all have questions that keep us up late at night. While some of these mind-boggling queries might be about topics like the meaning of life, some are quite trivial, such as “What would you get if you mixed Coldplay with Big Boi’s now-defunct Purple Ribbon All-Stars?”  Well, readers, the answer has arrived!  Straight out of Chapel Hill, North Carolina (home to the UNC Tar Heels) comes producer Apple Juice Kid, who teams up with Atlanta singer Michael Johnson for a record that mixes Coldplay’s Clocks record and the bridge from the P.R.A.S. hit single Kryptonite (I’m On It) to form the appropriately-titled Clocks in ATL.  To hear more from the AJ Kid, check out his brand new Miles David remix project here.

Honestly, the song is a bit confusing with the singing and constant shouting over it. I see a bit of creativity here, but I am not too sure about the execution. It just leaves something to be desired. The beat is a good mix overall. The voices sound decent. I think it's OK; I probably wouldn't listen to it again so I can't throw it into rotation.

Scratching my head on this one. I gotta admit, I didn't read the song title of this or the blurb before I heard it, so I was like WTF?! This dude tried for creativity and to have his own sound, which is always respected and encouraged. Unfortunately, I think it may have been a little too out there for people to enjoy. Still a fun and interesting record to listen to once in a while. Not bad.

Let me just say...the best drink ever is ice cold Apple Juice. The engineering mix on here is very low quality. I understand the idea of the mash-up and it's sort of clever...but it just was approached awkwardly. I don't know. I sort of like it, so I'll have to give it a 2 for being OK.

Clever use of sampling. Vocals don't do it for me. I was a fan of the original once again and someone goes and botches the mf up.

We received hundreds of records a week. 80% of them sound the same. AJK came with something TOTALLY different (yet, familiar as well, haha). Mad props on the creativity, I need to check for more Matthew Johnson too. Nice showing.

PS. MH is right - a cold glass of Apple Juice is the sh*t!!

Shouts out to the Kid!

The mash-up mix is fantastically creative, it's an amazing clash of clocks and no air, with a little bit of everything. BUT, it's entirely let down by the non-sense vocals and rap, it just wasn't put together. Speaking of which, the mash-up was tight, but it needs A LOT of polish.

I agree, I do hear "No Air" in there. It is different and I like it, but it does need some more work. He should start with a little less of the ad libs from Big Boi. Other than that I really didn't understand the lyrics, but I mash up was good.

It's not bad attempt at a mashup, but if you want to hear some good Coldplay mashup go to vivalahova.com.

It's an overall good song. Clocks was an excellent track and they didn't ruin it in this cut...they managed to create a pleasant song with a well known sample by the Coldplay. The production is banging, good music and good beat, but I don't like very much how they sing. If I found this on the radio I'd surely listen to it, but it won't go in my mp3 player...even though it's creative I'm not mad for sampled songs
