For an emcee to say so much in the first verse, what the hell could he have left for the rest of the song? But this is Apathy we’re talking about, and he doesn’t let us down lyrically as he makes himself at home over an Evidence driven beat, on self-reflective song Check to Check. Far too often in rap, emcees talk about all the money they have; Apathy talks about the lack there of, and I can relate. A lot of artists are living check to check and spending money irresponsibly, and perhaps Apathy is one of the first to admit it… on a record that is. “I’m contemplating changing jobs if the monies better / Cause making paper off of rap now is tougher than leather / I love music forever / But we can’t stay together / I told myself I’d never ever ever ever ever ...” Add in a Andre 3000 sampled hook - “Till the end of the week I live by the beat like you live check to check” - and you’ve got another reason to check out Apathy’s Honkey Kong LP, due out August 23.

 It's a shame rappers like Gucci or Wayne can release garbage tracks after garbage tracks, watch them climb the charts, and make a killing off of a sub-par track when rappers with incredible talent, like Apathy, are struggling to make a profit.

Apathy is an amazing artist been a fan since his mixtape Baptism by fire dropped :) anyways this is a great song and i love the Andre 3k sample on the hook

This track ooze's effortless flow. Apathy is one of the most consistant artists out there, never dissapointing, never selling himself short. The feel of this track could be a key element of ambiance of 'honkey kong' as a whole so I really can't wait to hear the complete package. If this track is an indicator it's going to be big!

Love the samples, the drums are hiding underneath the beat a little too much for my liking, but not enough to take the rating down. Lyrically, well it’s Ap, so of course the lyrics are great. This album can’t come soon enough.

You can always rely on AP to spit some real shit; on record, live, freestyling, whatever. Gotta love how this track shows his more vulnerable side without coming off as whiney or emo in any way. Apathy is an incredibly talented dude, and there is no doubt in any fan's mind that Honkey Kong will be an instant classic.
