ANTHM, the Ethiopian-born, N.Y.-based emcee who won widespread acclaim for DJBooth-hosted EP Joy & Pain back in Summer of 2012, has hooked up with Cali rapper/beatsmith and fellow DJBooth fave Blu to record a joint EP. Today, we get our first taste of the collaborative project in the form of lead single Nina. On this headphone-ready selection, the mellow keyboard chords, understated vocal samples and subtly driving percussion rhythms of GODlee Barnes (Blu’s pseudonym) back ANTHM as he reflects on mortality and the musical hustle, as well as sharing a few autobiographical details. Handful of Dust as yet lacks a drop date, but we in the Booth will keep you supplied with further details and song releases as they emerge.
