Am I jealous of Trey Songz? Honestly? Yes, yes I am. Ever since the video for 1 Thing hit the airwaves I’ve been more than a little in love with Amerie, so while I’d prefer that I was on her new single Pretty Brown, considering my complete lack of singing abilities it’s probably best Songz handles the vocal duties. Produced by M-Phazes, Pretty Brown has a distinctly mid-90s vibe, cruising along on big synth blasts and sharp percussion, a significant sonic departure from Amerie’s previously live band-oriented work. Whatever the new direction is, it works, crafting Pretty Brown into the kind of radio-ready material that could be the comeback Amerie’s been looking for after her last album Because I Love It was held back from a U.S. release. I’ve been assured that we can expect Amerie’s new album In Love & War to reach our fair shores on November 3. I know I’ll be waiting.

A HIT record. From start to finish this is enjoyable. If this doesn't become a Top 10 single, I am not sure what else can be done.

DAMN! this some lively and active production, which most of the time is great. And both Amerie and Trey provides exactly what you’ve come to expect vocally, as they harmonize very well together. This will own the radio stations soon ... BANGER!!!

Did I mention I'm in love with Amerie. In all honesty I live her big band sound a little better than this (like 1 Thing) but this track should get some serious rotation, and that's what she needs right now.

i hate Amerie's high nasal voice - i can't even tolerate it 2 c how Trey did on the track. Whoever did the One Thing beat must also have done this closely similar one! Amerie needs 2 b a model and stfu! lol

Solid song, both sound great on this & the production (though fairly basic) suited both Amerie & Trey. Should be a hit on urban radio, dunno about mainstream radio though.

Hmmm...not a big fan from the begining. Only because songs like this should not be sampled. I'm talking about songs that we're popular and still get played. I was just listening to the original yesterday. If your gonna sample a song at least let it be a song we've all forgotten about. Other than that, pretty good!

Yeah not feelin this song too much simply because I really dont like sampled songs so much...be orginal...the orginal song was already a classic...if you re-do something do it better or dont touch it.
