Three uniquely creative people from three different English-speaking nations, Blewz (USA), Stacy-Ann (Jamaica), and Steve English (UK), have teamed up to form the hip-hop/pop/reggae trio American Yard. Recently signed by Akon to his Konvict label, the Yard say hello with a bang on the folkway-deviators’ anthem, Yes We Did. The overall feel has a rather Midwestern sound to it (think Bone Thugs/Do or Die), as producer Ike Boogie lends a laid-back beat that will remind many of DJ U-Neek and The Legendary Traxster’s classic production. Those who are tired of the same ‘ol same ‘ol will no doubt want the answer to “Did you hear the new American Yard?” to be “Yes We Did.”

I've slaughtered this track many times. An all-around feel good vibe. THIS IS MUSIC!!! Almost reminds me of the group Arrested Development.

Stacy-Ann look kind of cute. Like a urban Pippi Longstocking. LOL...I know...Pippi Hoodstocking. I like the production. I can really Ike "Boogie" to it. The vocals are a little cheesy, but I'll throw this is rotation. It's better than most of the stuff out nowadays on the radio.

I agree with justokhall! The production is good, I'm feeling the beat and the music, but the melody isn't so good. The chorus is quite unbearable, no u did yes we did no u did yes we did grrr!

Let me explain how good quality pop music is created. Writers come together and decide on wording that the MAJORITY of the public will have an easy time remembering. The kind of hook or verse that gets subliminally stuck in your head and you cannot get it out for days, week or even months. YES WE DID is that kind of song. The song where you listen, and hours later you find yourself singing the chorus. If you are, the group did their job; like it or not.

"Yes We Did" is the song that put American Yard on the map. I still listen to it and it puts me in a good mood. Konvict/Universal Motown need to release their album soon! The world is waiting for American Yard to take over the game.

Ha, going from One Day at a Time to this is like going from Bruce Willis to Will Ferrell!!! One Day at a Time is Bruce Willis, and this is Will Ferrell; in other words, this is no good. I don't know why it gets Classics. Honestly, I need to wash this down with some Eminem or something else tht is pleasant to the ears. I'm sorry, but the production sounds juvenile, the lyrics sound cheezy and overall, this song is just there. I don't even know who the intended audience for this track is...It's not even ok. It's gotta be garbage. One Day at a Time is so much better.
