More than five months after Drake did some ad-lib work on Alicia Keys’ aching beautiful Un-Thinkable (I’m Ready), for my money the best song off her The Element of Freedom album, Drizzy’s back to finish what he started on Un-Thinkable (I’m Ready) (Remix). Here Noah “40” Shebib’s original, dreamy beat is untouched, as are Alicia’s haunting vocals, so the focus is entirely on Drizzy’s mic work. While vocally Drake certainly comes with it, dropping the kind of openly personal verse that’s earned him an army of adoring fans (“Rescue me from my destiny, I’m trying to live life and give you what’s left of me.”), I can’t help but be disappointed that he didn’t maintain the “unthinkable” theme more strongly. Then again, maybe I’m just mad at Drake because I like to listen to Un-Thinkable and imagine Alicia’s singing to me, an illusion his presence completely ruins. Hey, at least I’m honest. So how about it Booth? Original or remix? It’s decision time. And if you haven’t picked up a copy of Element of Freedom yet, shame on you. Shame.

I agree with Nathan that this was one of the best (if not the best) records on Alicia's album. From the dreamy production and vocals to the emotional ebb and flow from start to finish.

Nothing Drake does here makes this record any less enjoyable, but at least now we can really credit him for being a part of it haha.

I'm in love with the original and this one is just as good to me. Noah is an amazing producer and I'm glad he is handling a lot of songs on "Thank Me Later". This song is just so beautiful, even though the video wasn't that good. Classic, and one of the best on "Element of Freedom".

For my money this is my choice as the standout cut from "Freedom" as well. Something about Drake's addition doesn't mesh for me, but the original is a Classic.

Drake's verse is a pretty good addition to this song, but like @PlanB something about it didn't work to me.

This is an improvement on the original IMO, which is saying alot...well, more like a nice change of pace, but it's not enough to make a classic.

Drake's voice and this song don't work. I liked the original but damn, Drake needs to stick to what got him here.

Hands down best song on her album. Even though Drake is on it, the song is already a banger without him. I don't think he brings it to 5 stars but I will anyways. Just about flawless.

"being apart of this life I fear I'm going to end up being with somebody that's been with everybody" ! Drake went in on that ish right there...

Like I laid out in the intro, I like Drake's verse, but I wish he went with the "unthinkable" theme more. The only "unthinkable" thing he seems ready to do is get a tattoo.

No hate, but if I could only listen to one version for the rest of my life, it wouldn't even be close. The original's a classic, the remix is a classic with a decent Drake verse stuck into the intro.

I love Alicia Keys! This is the best song on her album in my opinion. I don’t think because Drake’s on the remix that makes it 5 stars rating, it was already 5 stars to me.

"I'm trynna live right and give you whatever's left of me"

That's a cold double entendre. But the song was classic to me w/o him already.

The Drizzy Express keeps going...anyone who works with him gets a ticket to success (Noah "40" Shebib got to do the beat for Alicia because of "Successful," similar to how Boi-1da got to do the beat for "Not Afraid" because of "Forever").

On this album, we finally got to hear Ms. Keys (maybe Mrs. Dean by the end of the year) over non-piano-dominant beats. Drizzy's verse doesn't add much to it, but it takes nothing away either. The original is a classic, so I'll say this is too.

Drake's album is going to be fire.

Put him on anything right now and it's fire, not because he's the flavor of the month but because he's THAT good.

I'm so proud to have an artist emerge from my city that can really and truly put a stamp on the hip hop game

Nothing left to see in the ratings sections folks:
*Drake is a beast
*Alicia Keys is a beast
*This song being their brain child makes it a beast of 'Un-thinkable' abilities.

Alicia Keys always does her thang. I'm starting to think is a better "Love Song " rapper. Just sounds more natural on that vibe or when he's singing.

Drake fits perfectly on this song and love this song on Alicia's album too. Its so smooth. Kinda gives me a feel of a smoothed out track off of 808's and Heartbreaks with the concert pianos, and 808 hi-hat, and semi-industrial sound. I'm feelin' it, Definitely.

This is a great record with or with out Drake. Like others said, I wish he continued with the "Un-Thinkable" theme, which is why I only give it 3 stars. Drake actually did better co-writing the song.

Drake gives this track something more to relate too, worrying about being alone for the rest of his life or ending up with a lady that "gets around". Ms Keys is always unbelieveabe, and i would love to do the un-thinkable with her. I am ready.

I just can't get this song out of my head. I am not an Alica Keys fan, at all. Yet, I keep spinning this and not hating it. It's actually sort of irritating.

Perfection is hard to improve. Original was just that but you can't deny the quality of the verse delivered by Drake either. Four is a fair rating but I'll rate this a five - don't want to do no disjustice to the value of this song.
