The 31st entry in our DJBooth.net Freestyle Series comes courtesy of Ali Vegas, the underground rapper who earned reader acclaim for reflective cuts If I and It’s So Hard.  On his brand new, previously-unreleased Going In freestyle, the Queens native flows over a Marley Marl beat originally featured on Big Daddy Kane’s Young, Gifted & Black.  Vegas is currently preparing for the April 28th physical release of his Generation Gap 2 LP, which is available now digitally.

Shouts to man man, Ali! More cats need to jump on Marly Marl board work! Nice story telling ability here - which is what this art form is all about!

Excellent choice of track. Ali Vegas does exactly what the freestyle's title says: GOES IN. There's still talent in New York people.

Production is fire no doubt ... In addition, Ali brought his A-game here, Flow is solid over the beat...

Ive always been a fan of Ali Vegas, I really thought he was going to blow up about 5 or 6 years ago. Im glad to see that he's still going hard. Great choice of beat, Marley Marl is still not getting the props he deserves.

Ok..here we go with the freestyles.....cool....he gave a shout out to the net...I really don't care for freestyles and to be honest i'm really not listening to it...i'm more so thinking "i can't wait to turn this off". Wait...let me listen to it again. When i listen to the second or third line it sounds like he's trying to take the thrown on the east coast/new york mainly...i could be reading too much into that/prob am..i'm trying to think of stuff here. Anyway..it was cool. As far as freestyles go...nice flow/decent beat.
