With urban music taking over the Billboard charts, it’s rare to hear a young singer who dares to reach across genre boundaries. A fan of such styles as dance and indie rock in addition to rap, New York’s own Alex Young has begun to make her mark. On a remix to her new single, Cold, Young adds a hip-hop touch with 16 guest bars from Yung Berg and a club banger beat supplied by producer Mathew “Matlock” Robinson. Berg spits about his ice (does he have it?) and his lady with the help of Auto-Tune, which freezes up the stage for Alex to come on and croon. Her request for a boy to come closer and keep her warm is cozy enough to resonate well during the coming winter months. This track definitely has all the ingredients for a great hit. It doesn't matter if you don't like Berg, he did his thing here. Alex is straight on the autotune. I think she should have turned it's power down a tad bit and it would have been a better track. I like the affected vocals feel and stuff. Very dope. I'll throw this in rotation. I'm pretty sure this song is going to receive harsh hate from the rest of you guys though. IDK...I'm on the fence with it...so into rotation it goes...for now.

i do not like yung berg, but he definitely did a really good job on this one...it was cool until alex opened her mouth. her voice was too boggled down with the autotune effect and too nasally...she should've left the autotune at home...don't think it was really needed on this track. the production was solid tho...nice, very interesting beat for sure...2.5 cus alex effed it up...cudn't stand her voice.

Yea her auto tune vocals ruined this for me. Burger did well on this one, and the production is good.

I think the production is what makes me like the song overall but I agree with MH that she could've turned the autotune power down...it distorted her vocals too much...but all in all it was decent

I'd like to hear a live version of this bcuz I luv the concept but the beat is pretty recycled and not so original. The auto-tune at times clashes a bit with the generic beat and at times she almost clashes with herself. The genre hop is kwl and Berg did hiz thang but could homie hear a re-remix...?
