With a resume that includes writing for Kanye West and Dead Prez, appearing on Def Poetry Jam, and starring as Brooklyn in the film ATL, it’s no wonder that rapper Al Be Back hasn’t yet had the chance to focus solely on his music career. On his new song, however, the Bronx native gets plenty of work in, admitting that although he still loves his woman, he’d likely Love You More if they were apart. Crafty behind the boards as well as the booth, Al and co-producer Roservelt‘s beat can be best described as “trying to be a love ballad, but missing something.” (Fitting, right?) Al is busy finishing up his debut album, Walk Man, currently set to drop this fall.
Heard this song awhile back and didn't know wat to think of it...it's pretty tight...its got the old school vibe which can never get old to me...lyrics are tight.
I like this a little. But I do agree that his flow is a little off on this beat. especially during the hook is when I thought he was way off the beat or just it did not sound right to me.
ok I know that sample! Teena Marie Portuguese Love. Yea.. No you did not do justice by it! That hook is awful. Just awful. The rest of the song is about a 3 but damn man. Now why you wanna go an do that?
Old school hip hop isn't exactly my hip hop type, but I must admit this is better than others I have heard on here! The beat is good and I like the chorus! I like him less, though. His flow is a bit boring! But it's in rotation, I even think I'll download it!
i like this song, the beat is nice , n im diggin the story, i think we can think of dat one person dat u feel like it would b better if u just wasnt together anymore. im really diggin it, the flow is good, the hook got dat biz marky feel to it, so i have to give it a 3 out of 5
