As rumors begin to swirl about a new studio album from Michael Jackson in May of ‘08, a similar hit maker has done a cover of one of MJ’s classic records. For a special “25th Anniversary Edition” of the epic album, Thriller, Akon has taken the dance floor sensation, Wanna Be Starting Something, and added his own modern-day touch. As one of four renewed songs on the commemorative project the production work can be fully credited to Kon, who did his part to keep the song as Michael-esque as can be.
No, I really don't like remakes most of the time, and this one is not very good. I like the song, but I just can't see myself jamming to this. Leave it as a classic.
i prefer thee oriinal, but i can see why mj ask 4 akon, i just dont think akon put that much effort into cuuttin this record as he does 4 his own stuff...its just ok.
First bad Akon song... Then again, it's for MJ, so this doesn't count. Kanye's also doing somethin for MJ, according to the Konvict World blog. http://konvictworld.blogspot.com/ Z, either "Rush" or I Can't Wait is going to be his next single. Right now, "I Can't Wait" is winning.
^I say "I Can't Wait". Thats what I voted on his poll.
Anyways, posting again with more info about MJ. "The King of Pop will release a 25th-anniversary edition of Thriller, including four tracks remixed by Akon, Kanye West and Will.I.Am. The songs are "Billie Jean," "The Girl Is Mine," "Wanna Be Starting Something" and "Pretty Young Thing."
The whole "Thriller" project is an attempt to resurrect Jackson’s moribund career at a time when he continues to be in financial peril. This column confirmed on Tuesday that Jackson is in hot water again. He owes a $5 million interest payment to Fortress Trust, the publicly traded hedge fund that bought his $272 million loan from Bank of America in April 2005. The payment is due on Oct. 31."
First of all, you guys are STUPID if you think MJ is really broke! He has Neverland and about 5 other Huge ass estates. His album Thriller sold over 100 Million copies worldwide...Do you know how huge this royalty check is? Also, MJ owns the entire Rights to the Beetles! Go look it up. I am not racist, but I honestly think that the reason MJ is looked at as broke is because he is a black man that America doesn't like! Show me some facts from a reliable source that he is broke! Anyway...This is Hot! I am a huge MJ and Akon fan and this track hits the mark big time for me! I am definitely ready for a new MJ album especially with Kanye working on it....now all he needs is NeYo, Pharrell, and Timbaland!
Song's ok, but it raises some interesting questions. What other artist should do MJ covers? Personally I'd like to see Usher take a shot at a slow-jam vrsion of "Billie Jean"

i like akon's otha song "blame it on me" da bomb yeah well s0rta....and for those peepz 0ut der dat hate akon and oda peeplz.....dont be a hattah be a playah....yup yup
That remix sounds crap. It sounds like some one grabbed him right between the legs or been strangled like a cat. Michael has pulled of some miracle’s with this song on stage and on recording and should have left it alone a song like that nobody else can perform it as good as mj. To many people try to pull of the performance that Michael Jackson did but nobody will ever gain his talent.
you have got to be kinding me, this is a total joke. he does not have the tone or passion in the lyrics. Akon vs MJ - hands down no competition MJ wins. Once a classic always classic, its like an old car that is mint condition you don't go making changes to it just for the sake of it. Leave well enough alone
Am I getting mad or does he repeat the same sentence sang by Rihanna in Don't Stop The Music? I don't understand anyway, he sings too fastly and I'm not anglosaxon...not a bad song, though
