Logically speaking, if an individual qualifies for “survivor” status at any point in his or her life, all that’s necessary in order to retain that status is not to die. Nonetheless, Akon evidently feels the need to remind us that he’s Still a Survivor on this newly-leaked cut off his recent digital-only EP. Fortunately, the pop heavyweight manages to state the obvious in an extremely catchy manner, celebrating the fact that he’s still alive and hustling over some pop-appealing in-house boardwork from Konvict Music. Released sans label fanfare on June 30, Konkrete is available now from online retailers. Fans should keep it locked for all the latest on Kon’s next studio album, Stadium, set to drop sometime this fall.
